I think this will be the strangest Easter weekend most of us have ever experienced. This is Daisy checking the tv listings magazine - she's hoping the promised "Easter treats" on the cover refer to cat food rather than what's on tv!

Max being still for two minutes. I was photographing birds when I thought I would try the big lens be it kind of close on Max.
Daisy didn't really want to share "her" chair with this intruder, especially as it's not her toy but one I got when collecting items for photos. Happy Caturday!

Another frame of the egret at Parco Talenti, captured in the exact instant of takeoff. What fascinates me about these birds is the combination of strength and elegance—there is nothing rushed in their movements, even when they launch into flight.
Here, the wings are fully extended, catching the light, while one leg is still pushing off the ground. It’s a split second that reveals the mechanics of flight: balance, timing, control. The contrast between the bright white feathers and the darker winter grass makes the movement almost sculptural.
Photographing wildlife in an urban park just a few meters from residential buildings still feels slightly surreal. Yet moments like this show how naturally these birds inhabit the space. For them, this is not “near the city.” It is simply their territory.

Un altro scatto dell’airone al Parco Talenti, colto nell’istante preciso del decollo. Ciò che mi affascina di questi uccelli è la combinazione di forza ed eleganza: anche quando spiccano il volo, non c’è mai fretta nei loro movimenti.
Qui le ali sono completamente aperte, illuminate dalla luce, mentre una zampa sta ancora spingendo da terra. È una frazione di secondo che rivela la meccanica del volo: equilibrio, tempismo, controllo. Il contrasto tra il bianco intenso del piumaggio e i toni più scuri dell’erba invernale rende il gesto quasi scultoreo.
Fotografare fauna selvatica in un parco urbano a pochi metri dalle case continua a sembrarmi quasi irreale. Eppure scene come questa dimostrano quanto siano perfettamente integrati. Per loro non è “vicino alla città”. È semplicemente casa.

Since 7th of February we know that Fiete has CRF, Feline Chronic Renal Failure. So I was busy to find a good way to keep his quality of life as long as possible. First step was to find a way that he is eating again because he lost a lot of weight and he was always a very thin cat. He will become seven years in July if the CRF will let him.
I lost old cats with CRF but they have been 19 and 20 years old. They both didn't know dry food.
Cross your fingers for our flyweight. Fiete is always such a sunshine.

...C'était une portée de quatre chiots. Ses trois sœurs sont nées le 31 décembre 2018 peu avant minuit, et lui le 1er janvier 2019 vers 0h30. Un petit dernier calme et pot de colle , m'avait dit son éleveuse trois mois plus tard.

Another quiet moment with the parakeets of Parco Talenti, perched on a bare branch and warmed by the winter sun. Their bright green plumage stands out vividly against the blue Roman sky, creating a scene that feels almost tropical despite the urban setting.
These birds are monk parakeets (Myiopsitta monachus), a species originally native to South America. Over the past decades they have established stable populations in several European cities, including Rome. Their adaptability to urban environments is remarkable: they feed on a wide range of plants and easily find shelter in parks and tree-lined neighborhoods.
At the same time, their success has sparked debate. In many places they are considered an invasive species because they can compete with native birds for food and nesting sites. Yet observing them here—quietly resting on a branch in a residential park—it is hard not to appreciate how seamlessly they have integrated into this landscape.
For a photographer, they represent an unexpected subject: a touch of distant ecosystems quietly inhabiting the everyday scenery of the city.

Un altro momento tranquillo con i pappagalli del Parco Talenti, appollaiati su un ramo spoglio e illuminati dal sole invernale. Il verde brillante del loro piumaggio risalta contro il cielo azzurro di Roma, creando una scena quasi tropicale in pieno contesto urbano.
Questi uccelli sono parrocchetti monaci (Myiopsitta monachus), una specie originaria del Sud America. Negli ultimi decenni hanno colonizzato numerose città europee, Roma compresa, dimostrando una straordinaria capacità di adattamento agli ambienti urbani. Si nutrono di una grande varietà di piante e trovano facilmente rifugio nei parchi e nelle aree alberate dei quartieri residenziali.
Il loro successo, tuttavia, è oggetto di dibattito. In molti contesti sono considerati una specie invasiva, perché possono competere con gli uccelli autoctoni per il cibo e i siti di nidificazione. Eppure, osservandoli qui—tranquilli su un ramo in un parco di quartiere—è difficile non notare quanto ormai facciano parte del paesaggio urbano.
Per chi fotografa, rappresentano un soggetto inatteso: un piccolo frammento di ecosistemi lontani che si inserisce silenziosamente nella quotidianità della città.

Happy Caturday!
Every moment with Tizzy was very special. He was an elderly rescue cat who shared my home for just over a year. He was very gentle & loving. In the photo he was sleeping in the sunshine through the patio doors, one of his favourite places.

These are our pet rabbits. They are cashmere bunnies and have just had a haircut. Fudge is on the left, Toffee is on the right. Fudge is a rescue bunny that we adopted. After we had him for a couple of years we noticed his biological littermate sister had been surrendered for adoption so adopted her. They instantly recognised each other even though they had been apart for about 4 years. They are such good siblings and adorable to have around.
Normally when they are in this position they want to have their heads rubbed. They love having their heads rubbed .
