This is a re-edited version of Celebrating light #1 - an image more accurately showing Pixy's colouring.
Apart from Pixy now being five years old, a lot has changed since this photo was taken three years ago. With my photography the single most important change is that I now almost always shoot using RAW file format.
We had two dogs at one time. In October 1996, we had to put our 16 year old Cocker Spaniel, Chula, to sleep. Our hearts were broken. But, we had our Yorkie, Maxcito. He was young, only 5 years old. When he suddenly developed paralysis we knew it was bad. After 4 days in the specialty veterinarian hospital, we were told it was hopeless. We has lost both our fathers (and worse our daughters grandfathers) during the previous year as well. We didn't know how we would face losing our little Max. On our way home from having put him down, while our daughter and I sobbed uncontrollably, my husband took us to a wonderful breeder. Neither of us thought we even wanted to go in to talk to them, but once there, we had to go inside. As soon as we went inside, Lottie Lou our Cockapoo picked us. She immediately started to jump and wiggle when we walked into the pen area. The owner brought us Lottie and her brother and a couple other pups. But Lottie chose our daughter. It was love at first sight. My husband and I looked at our child and could see the healing starting. We knew we would all be alright again. It took us a long time to stop missing our Cocker Spaniel and Yorkie but with Lottie Lou the Cockapoo's love, we made it though one of the hardest years ever. Thank God for our little white dog.
This is my friend, Magan's little fur ball.
He is such a cute rabbit! I love sneaking him little fruit pieces. ^-^
I'm just lounging around the house today; lazy Sunday. :) After all of the rain we got last night, it is nice and cool today and it feels wonderful. Contemplating spending the rest of the day napping with the windows open; really sleepy today. I will be five weeks pregnant tomorrow. <3
Three and a half more days until Brian comes home from work!

They haven't figured out that Pearl chews on the bars to get my attention to come out. So I open the door and they just stand there chewing, looking confused.

This is Joey, our cockatiel.
NO! I am not insane! I know I have a bunch of cats in the house and having a bird seems strange..........but Joey, like all the other critters here needed a home.
My stepson received him years ago as a gift. When he was forced to move, he was unable to take the bird with him, so guess who he called?
Joey was only supposed to be a temporary resident, however Larry became rather attached to him........so he is now a full time resident at Cat Hill Farms.
Joey was never hand trained. He is a NASTY bird! If you put your hand in his cage, he WILL bite you! I know that if I worked on it, I could have him hand trained in no time.....but with 7 cats and a crazy dog wandering around I have no safe place to work with him.....so he stays in his cage. He seems fine with this arrangement.
