Heidi and I are going to spend the Easter weekend with my parents, who are always looking forward especially to having a cat visitor. Hopefully on our return the Flickr App will have returned to working properly; currently I have to use my browser to look at your photos on my tablet and it's just not as convenient (and much slower!).

There are many here on flickr. Many of us are bound deeply to our pets, and studies show that is a healing thing. I suppose all of our pet pictures are efforts to show, or even explain our bonds, yet no explanation really serves. Love across species barriers reveals a bit of nature’s soul.

While I was about to get into my car, I saw this lovely cat appear from underneath someone's side gate. Not to be confused with my neighbour's cat, Nala, this guy is much more furry. I was pleased I happened to have my camera with me.

a new baby boy hamster I have found on the hamster show last Sunday:) I haven't found a suitable cage for him in shops here so I've just ordered one from an e-shop, hope it will arrive soon, now he has to be in the green cage Pixie had but it's rather small-well, I have a bad feeling it's bigger or about the size most hamsters in the Czech Republic have to live in...
La Mésange à longue queue (Aegithalos caudatus)
Identification :
La Mésange à longue queue ne fait pas partie de la même famille que les autres Mésanges, elle appartient à la famille des Aegithalidés alors que les « vraies » Mésanges (Mésange bleue, Mésange charbonnière, Mésange huppée, Mésange boréale, Mésange nonnette et Mésange noire) sont de la famille des Paridés. Le nom de « Mésange » attribué à la Mésange à longue queue est purement vernaculaire et non scientifique.
De ce fait la Mésange à longue queue a des mœurs singulièrement différentes des « vraies » Mésanges.
La Mésange à longue queue ne peut pas être confondue avec un autre oiseau tant sa queue est longue par rapport à son minuscule corps (La queue est aussi longue que le reste du corps de l’oiseau). Cet attribut permet une identification immédiate. Concernant les couleurs du plumage, la Mésange à longue queue arbore une livrée noire/rose sur les parties supérieures et blanc/rose sur les parties inférieures.
C’est un oiseau très social qui évolue la plupart du temps en petite troupe de 4 à 15 individus dans les arbres à la recherche de nourriture.
