Personal portfolio project
This is a personal photography project that I've been wanting to do for a pretty long time. I really want to focus on more personal work the next couple of years and bring it closer to my personal passions on top of my music photography (video games, comics, toys, etc).
Friends of mine have a child who looks just like Link from the Legend of Zelda game series. They dressed him up as Link for PAXEast a few months back, and I instantly knew I needed to get a photo shoot with him in gear as soon as possible.
We'll be sending these to Nintendo, who have already approached Mannix previously about making appearances as "Link" at cons.

A dear friend of mine wanted to document her jewelry collection from a particular vendor. Of course, she had the perfect outfit to accompany the jewelry. This one reminds me of (the old school) United Colors of Benetton.
Started a personal project today on food photography. Those shots were composed from items available at home. Next is to experiment after more shopping & some styling.
One light source, a 100W tungsten bulb. Photoshop was later used to correct the white balance & reduce the light on everything except the olives & the plate.

Favorite Quote
This week's prompt is "Favorite Quote" for the Instagram project #portraitsofme. On a retreat years ago, I pulled a quote out of a jar. This particular quote has reappeared several times in my life, most recently in a self-help book on ridding myself of shame.
The quote is:

That's how I feel about my journey around the planet this year. I've been working on accepting myself the way I am right now, not 25 pounds thinner or in better shape. Right now. In 2015, I let my hair go natural which I felt very conflicted about. We took a Thompson family photo around Easter that shocked me. My hair wasn't just gray; it was gray, silver, and white... mostly white. I looked in my mid-50s and I am just not ready for that. So I talked with my hairdresser about slowly introducing color back into my hair. The first time she added very subtle lowlights and highlights, and it was so subtle that no one even noticed. So this time, she went a little bolder. I love it.
I am blossoming.
It's a beautifully natural yet dramatic change. I think I look much younger and I'm much happier with my superficial appearance. And that's what this is about. I did it for me.
Thanks for looking! (And I'm sorry to those ladies who loved my gray!!! Maybe I will let it go again someday... maybe.)
A Personal Project
At the start of this semester i got given a grid square in Stoke-On-Trent in which i could do a project on what ever i wanted, i could also change my mind, the square i had in the end was very empty just being green field, images can be seen at (on.fb.me/15muAVO),
I did enquire about changing my grid square to this one my house mate found this location on a walk and said it was very beautiful and interesting, i really wanted to take images of the location due to my heritage of my Nan and grandad AKA Pap were brought up on the boats and worked to supplying coal to factories and mainly because Pap recently passed away a couple of weeks before.
At the end of the semester i went to the location because i really wanted to take the images due to my feeling to the area, i told my nan about yeah i was taking images in stoke of the canal lovely place explained it and she told me a couple of storys about cruising up the potteries. A couple of weeks later when i go to see my nan she gets out some photos, which i normally look at when i go around to see if theres any more added or anything, she pulls out the photos which i looked at not just a week before and goes

I look in the background of the photo and was astonished just a week before i was at the same location.
It's brought a more close and an emotional feel to these pictures when I've been recently editing them.
