On Saturday 7 October 2017, UCL Urban Laboratory and Folkestone Triennial 2017 held the second event in the EDGE symposium series, exploring the concept of situated practice in contemporary art, architecture and urbanism. The events bring together practitioners and thinkers at three ‘edge’ locations connected by the High Speed 1 railway, which acts a geographical link and embodies ideas associated with community, connectivity and escapism.
In framing these events, we have considered 'edge' as: 'Where an area that is known or privileged meets another that is unknown or ignored; a point of balance between contrary or diverse phenomena; a place of connectivity and interaction.'
'Periphery' was a day of enquiry to consider the environs of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Investment for the 2012 Games brought rapid development to the previously neglected Stratford area. Here East, within the former press and broadcasting centre of the Games, is envisaged as a cluster of innovators and digital makers, whilst the Stratford Waterside development will bring new institutions including the V&A, Sadler's Wells, London College of Fashion, and UCL.

I happened to get the most and the best photos of Periphery out of all other bands I shot that day, these photos deserve their own album. Sadly, their bassist, Nolly, did not make it to this show, he was still trapped in the UK. Periphery on the Summer Slaughter tour play at the house of blues in Hollywood on July 20th.

The formal gardens at Wrest Park developed over 150 years, from the late-17th to early-19th centuries. The style was inspired by the gardens at Versailles. The gardens dating from the late-17th to early-18th century survive almost intact, with some 18th-century landscaping and 19th-century development. The registered site covers some 380 hectares. There are a number of distinctive garden buildings.
From 1671 to 1702 the Earl and Countess of Kent altered the medieval and 16th-century house, laying out a formal landscape around it, largely focused on the axial canal called the Long Water. In 1702 Henry, the 12th Earl, created the Great Garden around the 17th-century features. He laid out the woodland garden flanking the Long Water, the formal canals enclosing it and the canals at right angles to the Long Water. He also built the Pavilion. Jemima, Marchioness Grey employed Lancelot Brown in about 1758 to 1760 to work on the periphery of the Great Garden to soften the contours of the perimeter canals.

Atypical adenomatous hjyperplasia (AAH) is defined in the WHO Histological Typing of Lung and Pleural Tumors 3rd Ed as follows,: "A focal lesion, often 5 mm or less in diameter, in which the involved alveoli and respiratory bronchioles are lined by monotonous, slightly atypical cuboidal to low columnar epithelial cells with dense nuclear chromatin, inconspicuous nucleoli and scant cytoplasm. AAH is considered to be precursor of pulmonary adenocarcinoma. It is usually an incidental finding in tumor resection specimens and is separate from the adenocarcinoma. However, AAH changes may sometimes be encountered at the periphery of adenocarcinomas. In this case a tiny nodule of AAH was present at a distance from the adenocarcinoma.
