It has been Photoshopped (well, there were 8 shots to stitch together), but there has been no air brushing...!!

Perfectly diagonal shadows create an abstract, at Rochester Castle, on the banks of the Medway in Kent.

Built at a cost of £60 in the 12th Century, replacing the original castle damaged in the Rebellion of 1088, the current structure was heavily damaged in the first and second Barons' Wars of the 13th Century, and last saw true military action in the Peasants Revolt of the 1381 (it was captured by Royalists during the Civil War, but no combat took place there). At the turn of the 17th Century some of it's stone was used to build nearby Upnor Castle, which would stem the progress of the Dutch in their 1667 raid on the Medway.

Shot with a Nikon D40 and a Nikkor AFS DX 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G II lens, and processed in GIMP and Photoscape.

Perfectly round droplet, perfectly beautiful rose...perfection in nature

The purple asters are taking over the front flower beds.

For about one month a year the sun sets between these two trees.

A 3-4 metre Saltwater Crocodile sunning itself in the Daintree River. Perfectly deadly and prehistorically rady for action when warmed up!

There were fewer crocodiles than I expected but then again they are masters of stealth and movement in and under the water. So travellers beware!

A perfectly still day in St.Margarets Hope, Orkney.

Perfectly safe I heard, well it doesn't appear that way from this viewpoint. Breakers rolling off the Pacific in California.

In the days when I was a railway modeller an oft used phrase in the magazines was "Perfect for the small(er) layout" This little train of 5 heavily loaded scrap wagons and a brake van hauled by a shunter which looks 'straight out of the box' sums up the phrase perfectly.

08223 was rumbling past Masborough Station South Junction signal box with a local trip working, the shunter was so clean I wish it had been taken in colour.

The loco was built as 13293 at Derby Works, it entered service at Sheffield (Grimesthorpe) 28/12/1956. It carried the BR number D3293 and under TOPS became 08223. The loco spent all of it's working life in the Sheffield area, it was an early casualty being withdrawn 24/06/1979. 08223 then made the longest journey it ever had to Swindon and a date with the cutters torch 01/02/1980.

after driving more than 400km we deserved something small (I will not show the dessert ;)

nach mehr als 400km Autofahren haben wir etwas Kleines verdient (Ich werde das Dessert nicht zeigen ;)

Perfect single knot.

Landing perfectly on RW05 at YYZ just a few months before life as we knew it would change and the aviation industry would suffer its biggest crisis ever

A super long exposure to completely flatten out an already calm sea around Dawlish, the beautiful pastels colours complemented the scene perfectly

Doesn't this little Eastern Screech-Owl look like she just came from the salon; styled to the max. One of my favorite sounds is the trill of this diminutive owl coming from the trees at night.

Taken at the Stillman Nature Center.

After taking this photo, I took this flower. It's not the most beautiful flower I've ever picked for my wife but it is beautifully unique. You can see where it has been damaged, the combination of sun and rain and all the other elements of weather have taken it's toll, but yet, it is still a flower, and still beautiful. It is perfectly imperfect. Just like each person is unique, each person is beautiful. Reguardless of how much life has taken it's toll on you, you are still beautiful! You are perfectly imperfect.

With this shot I told the tale of our fabulous good fortune running into a perfectly timed Laurel to Missoula manifest just as we pulled up into Helena: flic.kr/p/2nLG64k

Here's another shot as the pair of SD70ACEs march up through Tobin in this long telephoto view looking downgrade from the Birdseye Rd. crossing near MP 6.2 on Montana Rail Link’s 3rd Subdivision. The state capital of Helena only a half dozen miles east is obscured in a haze of wildfire smoke on this warm late summer day. The duo are assisted by a manned swing helper set of four more ACEs working to boost them up the 2.2% grade to the 5566 ft. top of the Continental Divide about fourteen to the miles west on the original 1883 Northern Pacific mainline, the nation's second transcontinental railroad.

Countless articles have been written about the MRL over the past 35 years of its existence and if you care to learn more download this great set courtesy of Trains Magazine:

For his means of architectural expression the Russian has always borrowed the grammar of some foreign tongue and made it the basis of a language entirely his own. [St Petersburg] remains the most perfectly planned and most impressively classical city in Europe, and its beauty is a supreme monument to the individual genius of the Russian aesthetic - Robert Byron, 1933.

Saab seen at the Historical Weekend in Den Helder with hundreds of classic cars, historic vehicles, old engines and tractors, military vehicles and fire engines with beautiful old cargo ships, fishing boats, steam tugs and other sailing maritime heritage make for a great event .

Candid street portrait, with some lovely eye contact, taken in Glasgow, Scotland. I was just hoping that a suitably interesting character would step into the gorgeous sliver of sunlight as I slowly hobbled along Argyle Street. When I saw this man I just had to time the shot for that light, I loved the perfectly trimmed curve of his beard that frames his face so well in the light.

One great perk to having Shipping Buddies - you have the opportunity to get "group shots" before you ship the dolls to their perspective owners. #groupshots

Now that's a perfectly toasted marshmallow! Too bad we have to wait a couple of weeks to actually savour toasted marshmallows on an open fire. This one was toasted oven a gas stove - in the kitchen. Can't tell you how many got burnt beyond a crisp trying to get one just right.
