"Do take photos, but be sure to enjoy the view."
Full screen that is. Hahah!
This was taken near the coast by St. Ives, during the fabled 'golden hour', when all lighting is naturally perfect. And the sunlight at the time, setting and in combination with the particles in the air had created very good conditions.
The blob and streak you see on either side of the photo is because I took this from behind a raised clump of grass (Mendhak patented stalking technique #14) - I didn't want that guy to turn around and see me.
He was there in the same position for about 5 minutes. I think this guy may have had the same approach to photography as me - take 20 photos of the same thing, then go home and delete 19.

On the way to Gurudongmar lake, our driver stopped to fill fuel from an illegal but popular vendor. While her mom (the vendor) was busy attending to the customer, this little butterfly took the opportunity and did all that she was forbidden within abt 5 mins and then sat back with an impish smile!
This is a road side view going to Agus, Lapulapu. Several times I had passed by this, bit it was just this instance that the lights from heaven was set perfectly
The Yukon's long Pleistocene history of glacial and interglacial periods is exemplified by the rocky erratics that appear everywhere, when one looks.
In this image, taken in the forest near the old Canyon City town-site, one comes across odd rocks which look as if a giant hand simply decided to place them at random. The truth is likely that glaciers carried them here over huge distances and then, when the climate warmed and the ice melted, simply left them where we find them today.
As a photographer, I think glacial erratics often make for very intriguing subjects. In this case, the right afternoon light, and the right amount of snow, and a handsome tree, all combined to make for a very nice photographic opportunity.
This photo is an HDR made by combining 5 separate exposures to cover the widest possible dynamic range. I used the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 lens, which is absolutely my favour all purpose carry-around optic. I also used a circular polarising filter. All the separate images were stacked in Lightroom and the result adjusted to offer what, I felt, was as close as possible to the original scene.
