A rocky outcrop, a tree, and that perfect afternoon light...

This photo was taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 lens, which is absolutely my favourite all purpose carry-around optic. I also used a circular polarising filter. The camera was mounted to a tripod and triggered by remote. The final image was processed in Adobe Lightroom from five raw images covering a range of plus and minus 3 f-stops.

When I was very young, I lived on an island and I remember some awesome foggy mornings by the ocean. They weren't something that happened everyday but they weren't unknown either. Here in the mountains of southern Yukon where I've lived for almost fifty years now, foggy mornings are a much rarer spectacle, but when they do happen, they are almost incomparable.

Yesterday, we had a spectacular thunderstorm, also rather rare here, but it was something. I've experienced a tornado or two during my college days in Southern Ontario, and yesterday almost felt like that. The wind gusts, massive downpour, and lightning reminded me of the night of tornado activity that struck South London around 1984. Fortunately, we seem to have avoided a tornado here. Nevertheless, the amount and intensity of wind and rain, downed trees and soaked the land as it is seldom soaked.

Of course, moisture and a cooling of the air at night resulted in a beautiful blanket of fog over a calm and peaceful land this morning. Being Sunday, I might has slept in, but I woke early and immediately noticed the atmosphere outside. I got dresssed quickly, picked up a camera bag and headed out. Despite my quick departure, the fog was already lifting in some areas. Nevertheless, where it remained, the photographic opportunities were obvious. By the lake there was no sound and the light filtering through the fog was as soft and pleasant and one could ever imagine. Then, as if that wasn't beautiful enough, a look called from the still waters. You can't beat that anywhere!

This particular photo was taken from the edge of Schwatka Lake in an area used by float planes flying between Whitehorse and various remote locations throughout southern Yukon and northern BC.

I saw perfect lighting and had to stop and take a photo. Sharon Township, Ohio.

A peaceful evening in the valley of the river Lozoya, stillness and silence it was easy to get close to insects fluttering everywhere and taking macro close range. The uniformity of color gives a soothing look to the shot.

all of us think, all of us have good ideas and all use to forget them inside of a lot of thoughts that run away from our brain very fast. take them down put inside a paper coffer with a pencil key. Perhaps never use, never more read them, but the treasure of your mind stay waiting you or someone else for all the eternity. Perhaps you were right.
