Day 20 was spent doing some more work with a fashion shoot I started last week. 7pers Australia.

Her name is Prue and she was a true professional. She didn't need any direction at all. The girls chose the jewellery, I chose the spot and the rest was as easy as the click of a button!

I used selective colouring on this shot because of her glowing green eyes, I couldn't bring myself to loose the colour there!

20 down 80 to go...

This pool hall was on main street, and of course looked up and I could only shoot through the glass by pressing the camera up against the window, again it looks like your in the room, wow I really like this shot because it is so clean. Taken with a Hasselblad H3D-31 mega pixel camera, with a 35 mm lens, f stop 3.5 shutter speed 1/15 of a second ISO 100. Bodie State park off of highway 395 in the middle of the state, part of Mono county.

On this photo I had a two second exposure, at an f-stop 5.6, 80mm lens going north on Vine passing Santa Monica blvd in L.A. about 8:15 pm. I was also making the camera bounce up and down going about 20 miles an hour, attached on a bracket mounted to my driver door handle pointing out the side drivers window, I liked the effect also.

Alone, misplaced, obsolete - But still an icon

An overcast day in the harbor, but a great day for photos, I thought.

Port of Los Angeles, main channel.

Morning walk...

I was out of the house very early this morning to take Master Jack Sparrow to the vets as today was the day for the snip.

I had to gallop out of the surgery as I am a big sook especially as the vet had to pry his paws from around my neck, and Jack giving me a look to say "for Gawd's sake don't leave me".

So with the sun just coming up, blue skies and everything looking all sparkly from our recent, torrential downpours, I headed to the River Bann.

Obviously its still getting run off from the floods as it was running very high and very, very fast, so fast that it was actually flattening the surface of the water.

The Mute Swans have flown in for the Winter and the four that entertained me were extremely friendly which made me feel guilty for not having anything for them to eat.

The light was amazing and I got the kind of shots that I love to get, all dreamy and ethereal, not to my darling husband's taste LOL.

Cynthia Swan glided by, although I knew that underwater her feet were paddling like mad to fight the current, and her reflection in the river was just gorgeous.

And how do I know its a female? She has a smaller knob on the top of her beak - and no tittering comments about large and small knobs, thank you very much!!!!

You will be pleased to know that Master Jack is non the worse for his operation and has forgiven me.

DEFINITELY BETTER ON BLACK. CLICK ON PHOTO ONCE

I saw this while walking the bridge from the UK to France en route to Japan for Illuminations. The lighting was so perfect, so I took a few snaps, and this one came out the best. Thanks for lookin', and have a great day!

I'm not sure what house this is but we are still in Bodie state park. This room was again taken with the camera pressing up against the window. Do you notice that around this shot you see some yellow blotches left side and right side of this pic. That is the dirt on the window but when the camera is so close to the glass, it spreads the dirt, so it looks cloudy. This is not photoshopped for an effect, this is the way I shot it. I did use photoshop CS4 for sharping and a little for contrasting but no layering.

Had a little taste of fresh air and sunshine today, a little reminder that in spite of all the hate and division being stirred up, that there is plenty of beauty in the world if you'll just look for it.

It reminds me of sitting in History class, staring out the open window on a hot summer's day, just praying for the bell to ring..

But the bell will ring, come November, and we will see what we shall see. Till then, all we will get is more crisis after crisis, trying desperately to distract and divide us at any cost. Keep the faith, baby. The bell *will* ring...

This shot was taken using the same basic settings, the same equipment and location as this image. It's amazing how different the sky can be in a 20 minute period.

It had been a long time since I watched a sunset from "start" to "finish" but it was fun. I recommend you do that sometime (I need to do it more often).

Shot with a Canon 7d and 15-85mm lens (this is a 5-shot HDR processed in Lightroom 4, Photomatix and CS4).

Once again pressing the camera against the window, and then zooming in, you get this

appearence of if you were in the store. The store is looked up by the rangers to protect the park and its contents but if your lens meaning more than one if you keep them clean

you get a clear and sharp picture even with a little point and shoot camera. Bodie State Park highway 395 middle of the state.

This scene is I believe a kitchen or a sitting area, I'm not sure but the side light coming in was a very dramatic. I used a Hasselblad medium format 31 mega pixel camera 35mm

lens, F-3.5 1/30 of a second, ISO 400, again pressing the lens up against the window, it appears to look like that you are inside the room and GOD, I love the wallpaper. Bodie State Park off of highway 395 in the middle of California.

The intensity in the eagle's eyes are pretty evident in this image. It was flying almost directly into the sun after it missed grabbing a fish. This one must have needed glasses or something, it flew around in a circle at least three times trying to grab the same fish.

If you get a chance to visit Le Claire, Iowa in the winter time - bring the longest lens you can get your hands on!

My red Trek has value beyond the sum of its parts. Years ago, my best friend and I bought a pair of mountain bikes to ride together. In 2003, that friend died tragically, so I ride on for us both.

“Sparky” is shown below.

I had the good fortune to spend an afternoon at Lock and Dam 14 with some good friends and some good light. There weren't as many birds as we would have liked, but the ones we saw were awesome. This image was during the late afternoon and the sun was really starting to get into the "golden hour".

There were a lot of people there, and it was fun to meet new friends and talk photography for the day. I'll have more updates this week, including a timelapse I made while at Lock and Dam 14. Can't wait to go back for more!
