Norway are home to beautiful scenery, but it’s also home to a dangerous stretch of coastline. The Stadhavet Sea is the most exposed and dangerous area along the coast of Norway. The people who lives out here, have always been linked to the sea, as sailors, as fishermen and as whalers. This area experiences between 45 to 106 stormy days per year. The beautiful coastal landscape is shaped by the waves, through an eternity of time.. Thanks for your visit and comments, my Flickr friends! Stay safe and healthy..

La Norvège abrite de beaux paysages, mais elle abrite également une bande côtière dangereuse. La mer de Stadhavet est la zone la plus exposée et la plus dangereuse de la côte norvégienne. Very shortly after I’d taken the slow shutter-speed shot of the water, this chap ran along the edge of the bathing pool and simply leapt into the churning sea and paddled off in search of his wave. I just managed to crank up my iso enough to catch him and I fired off a couple of shots. It all happened so quickly.

Even though I'm back home in Wales, a part of me is still playing in the snow amongst the Dolomites. The day I spent exploring around the back of Tre Cime di Lavaredo was one of my very special memories. It was a. day when with a bit of desire and commitment the whole of the area opened up just for me. Not another person could be seen or heard in this majestic landscape. I was so lucky. Perfect is by Smashing Pumpkins.

A Perfect Morning, one photographers view of another photographers view of the cloud inversion from Latrigg this morning looking towards Grisedale Pike and the Newlands Valley etc..A stunning morning with the cloud inversion seeming to cover the whole of the Lake District and indeed eventually reaching higher up to us on Latrigg. I liked this image of a lone photographer catching that moment of first light hitting the peaks in front of him as the moon drops lower in the sky.

For those of us that travel, we are often compelled to experience a place by reading a book, seeing an image or watching a film. When we arrive, it can be disappointing or enchanting. After watching the film, "Lawrence of Arabia", many times over I knew Wadi Rum was a place I had to add to my own being.
Don Lean, the director of the movie, showed the immense landscape, the sweeping vistas, and silent sameness of the desert sand. I wanted to experience some of the adventure that took one to such a desolate place and feel the quiet windswept emptiness and discover why the Bedouin still call it home.
Luckily, it became etched in my memory as a place of wonder, romance, silence, awareness and joy. The rock formation, The sight of The Seven Pillars of Wisdom, in this vast untamed desert, will be with me forever.
Some days are just perfect in every way and this was one of them! Shared with one I love and driving through my favorite places ... what more could I want? :)

Yesterday evening I went out to Estero Bluffs to walk the trails. I was happy when I spotted a RS Hawk atop a bush. I slowly worked my way a bit closer and as I did so the hawk repositioned himself on the perfect twig with a nice colorful clear background. I just LOVE it when that happens - which is almost never!

This shot took me ages as the sun was directly behind the bird. Fortunately it was more than happy to sit patiently for me.
On the wall opposite in perfect light it's pall was having none of it and cleared off well before I was close enough for a shot.

Things don't have to be perfect to be beautiful... it's the imperfections that make things more interesting. And sometimes in trying to achieve what you THINK is perfection, you actually ruin everything. I guess what I'm trying to say is... if the weeds bother you, you don't bulldoze the daffodils to get rid of the weeds... especially when... they are not your daffodils.
And do your hands tingle just before you start to cry... or is that just me?
I think I Iearned something today.
