I'm surprised this nest is SO close to the highway.

I SEE YOU! This raccoon was very curious as we walked by, the rustling of the leaves made his presence known. He's a cutie!

Hmmm... Making progress! What ever could it be?!

a peek at the folks who gathered in SF to participate in the 101st Annual Bay to Breakers run. Weird, Wild and Wacky doesn't even begin to describe the sightings I saw, clothed and unclothed. Yep I suppose I'll be back again in 2013 to see this event. Quite entertaining

just taking a peek

This is a photo of a red fox, taken at the British Wildlife Centre (www.britishwildlifecentre.co.uk).

I really enjoyed taking photos of the foxes, even if they were a little shy sometimes :-)

Red foxes are omnivores with a highly varied diet. In the former Soviet Union, up to 300 animal and a few dozen plant species are known to be consumed by them. They primarily feed on small, mouse-like rodents like voles, mice, ground squirrels, hamsters, gerbils, woodchucks, pocket gophers and deer mice. Secondary prey species include birds (with passeriformes, galliformes and waterfowl predominating), leporids, porcupines, raccoons, opossums, reptiles, insects, other invertebrates and flotsam (marine mammals, fish and echinoderms).

Red foxes readily eat plant material and in some areas, fruit can amount to 100% of their diet in autumn. Commonly consumed fruits include blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, cherries, persimmons, mulberries, apples, plums, grapes and acorns. Other plant material includes grasses, sedges and tubers.

This little guy has been with us for a few weeks. He likes to play peek a boo with us, hiding behind the feeder. Usually camera shy, today i was able to capture his playfulness.

Day 3-- We put up our Christmas tree today! All of the decorations are crowded onto the top half because Annika kept grabbing them and breaking them, but the lights are pre-strung on our fake tree, so they cover the whole thing. Annika also took every candy cane she could find off the tree. She broke them and chewed on them and got nice and sticky. I sat her down by the tree with half of one she had broken, and gave Emily the other half. They really enjoyed flopping around in the carpet, looking up at the lights and smearing sugary red goodness all over.

Later came dancing to Christmas music in the dark (the better to see the tree light up) and bouncing off the walls before bedtime.

She's actually my BIL's niece but since she's such a cutie I'm claiming her as one of my nieces =D

This was actually taken sometime last year and I noticed it whilst going through my archives. I cant believe i missed this one =D so cute

Documenting some family moments with some family over in my nieces' first birthday. I haven't stopped struggling on getting a perfect photo and i think i never will, i need to meet other photographers that understand and that i can relate to about photography, whenever I'm shooting, every time i shoot my family i always get rushed by them to take a photo (and usually they don't assist me and i have to be doing everything) You never rush an artist at his craft, but sometimes for some miracle reason i end up getting usable images that i can share with you.

i'm not sure by what process this flowery design was applied to the exterior window glass of a small business. i liked that didn't completely cover up parts of the green plant inside.

I purchased this ceramic face in St. Augustine, Florida, at a local flea market. It now helps to decorate our dining room.

Every year, the women in my family over 21 years of age gather somewhere in the country under the auspices of thrifty shopping. While we *are* improving the economy of whichever city we happen to visit, the trip is more about female bonding and creating lasting memories. With 7 aunts, 30 cousins, and my 85-year-old grandma, we have a rollicking good time! (And you have to be over 21 because wine is everywhere, all the time!)

This decoration will always invoke memories of the ocean and laughing the night away.
