I need to get myself some TechSmith mugs, yes? Basic bits: "cup" of flour, brown sugar, milk, eggs, marg, vanilla extract. Not shown: some salt.

For FGR: When I'm bad, I'm better. What's badder than eating peanut butter straight out of the jar?

Inspired by the lovely girls at Tethered to the Sun, who are always making a mess (not work safe most of the time).

For the record, peanut butter photo shoots produce considerably more disgusting pictures than not. And they result in eating a lot of peanut butter. Mmmm.

Maddie can't believe her good fortune!

"I don't know how the peanut butter got there Mum..."

First I scraped all the peanut butter I could from inside the jar, applying it sparingly to my toast. I licked the spatula too.

Next I soaked the jar and spatula in water and a squirt of detergent. I ran the water until it was hot. Cold water would not have made any advances toward loosening the peanut oil remaining in the jar and on the spatula.

I ate my toast.

I went back to the jar in the sink and ran more hot water into the jar, and scrubbed it with a sponge.

I wiped the spatula clean and dried it with a tea towel. The oil came off the spatula fairly easily.

But not so the jar, which required a third wash with fresh detergent and hot water.

Finally the jar was nearly clear of any remaining peanut butter or oil. I wiped out the inside with the tea towel just in case.

Now for the lid, it was the same process basically but some of the peanut butter had begun to dry out on the inner side of the lid. It took an extra washing and finally a wipe with the tea towel. I tossed the tea towel into the washing machine because it was rather smudged now and probably wouldn’t do for drying any dishes or hands.

Finally, I had the jar ready for the recycling bin. Just doing my bit for conservation.

That reminds me I need to add dish detergent and peanut butter to the grocery list.

peanut butter, oatmeal, and chocolate chip cookies

These are very cool gluten-free banana pancakes which I recently discovered. To look at them you'd swear that they were normal, everyday pancakes, but biting in you discover something like moist banana bread. To make it even better, there are only 3-4 ingredients involved and you can whip up enough for one person in a matter of a couple minutes!

Day 273/365

I have a tendency to go a little overboard when I make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. ;)

Paste... Like my brain tonight after the election non-result.

Chocolate/peanut butter hearts. Fun to make, but had to chill them in the freezer to get them out of the mould. (They didn't all survive!)

Snack between "the burger" and dinner. This will also be breakfast, just making sure it'll be good.

Finally got around to updating the food blog! Recipe, etc on The Craving Chronicles.

A glass of milk with a peanut butter and marmalade sandwich - delicious :)

dark chocolate cake filled with peanut butter dulce de leche, half a snickers bite and peanut butter dulce de leche buttercream, topped with dark chocolate ganache, and peanut butter dulce de leche buttercream...shot before they were packed and shipped and destroyed by poor packing and careless handling.

He never did lick this off or even seem to notice it was there. I had to wipe it off after 10 minutes. Bodie is not the brightest dog, well, ever. He's sweet. He truly is Scooby Dooby Dum.

Triple layer chocolate cake with peanut butter cream cheese frosting and chocolate peanut butter ganache, topped with crushed Reese's Pieces. It was pretty intense.

Part of a Comilation. See "The Full Dinner" on my page for the full compilation.

Chocolate macaron shells made with half almonds and half peanuts, filled with salted peanut butter filling with a dollop of milk chocolate ganache. Sort of like a Reese's peanut butter cup! Best-tasting macarons I've made yet (thanks to Kristy for the recommendation)!

Still so imperfect though with their wrinkly tops and silly feet...
