during the american colonial times the americans introduced the filipinos to peanut butter and it didn't take long for an enterprising filipino businessman, in the 1950's, to produce his own unique blend. many philippine kids grew up with this locally produced peanut butter, specially during the 1970's when importation was regulated. it used to be packaged in a glass jar with metal cap but has been replaced with an all plastic jar and lid container. the content, though remains just as good as the first time i tried it bringing back happy fond memories of the good old days!

Three days in a row I've captured a mouse. They love the peanut butter I put in the trap since it's the only food available to them. I'll take this one to the field 1/2 mile from here and let it go. It's hard to get them out of the trap though, they become attached to it very quickly since its small, dark and has food.

For our peanut butter tasting.

I should have used more milk chocolate ganache on the lower level, but the peanut butter/powdered sugar mixture was satisfactory as it didn't ooze and still tasted potently of peanut butter. I was worried it would taste too sugary.

I saw on Facebook that jars of peanut butter mixed with Marmite are being sold. I thought I'd give it a try using separate jars … it's delicious 😀
