Our trip to the pumpkin patch was delayed this year by our Europe trip. Better late than never!
On the tractor ride, after picking out our pumpkins.
Took my family to Cool Patch Pumpkins, home of the world's largest corn maze. It was quite a fun experience. For the maze luckily I had most of my hiking gear: headlamps, bug spray, water bottles, GPS... According to my daughter this maze is "bigger than a cow" but she's in denial about it being the biggest in the world. It took us about 90 minutes to navigate the maze.
Diversionary tactic: since the sweater that I knit for Kris had some issues to work out, I quickly knit this hat for him... but he wasn't home to model it... so, I decided to try it on for size.
Pattern: Ski Beanie, from Son of Stitch n' Bitch book
Yarn: Berroco Ultra Alpaca, black and yellow
Needles: Size US 5 circs
*Bought the patch at an online fan store. I have another one for a hat for me...

PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: It was the last weekend in July 2023. Going down one of the first aisles at the flea market takes us within view of the next aisle over, where the lady we bought Lindsey from usually sets up. Because her items are often either top affordable dollar or unreasonably priced, we don't usually look at her dolls. So, what we typically do is take inventory from a distance when we go down the other aisle, then we don't go directly past her table once we're actually in the other aisle, unless we saw something worthwhile from a distance. We noted that the seller had an African American Cabbage Patch on that last Sunday in July 2023. We decided to take a closer look. We both really liked this little guy and thought he was absolutely adorable. And he was dressed in authentic Coleco clothes! We didn't ask the price right off, but figured that, if we didn't find much else, we'd double back. After buying a group of Barbies for a dollar each, we did double back. The lady wasn't at the table, but her husband was, but he didn't know the price, so we waited a few minutes for her to come back. She said she'd normally sell him for twenty, but because she knew we'd give him a good home, she let us have him for fifteen! I absolutely love his hair! The texture is amazing! I also love that he uses the #3 head sculpt with the one dimple. He is so charming! We named him Nathan, in honor of someone I am very fond of. The name is perfect! Little Nathan has mismatched feet--his toes have come unsewn on one side. But that is okay--you can't tell when he wears a footed sleeper or shoes. For the first two years we collected Cabbies, my dream of having an African American one was unfulfilled. I feel so lucky that cute little Nathan has filled the void! We actually bought Sheldon from the same lady, about two years prior. They were the same price. It is hard to say who was the better deal--Nathan is full sized and was full dressed in this adorable Coleco outfit. He is an AA doll and was released the first year of Coleco Cabbies! Sheldon is a Preemie and was wearing an odd assortment of clothes (including a pair of authentic CPK girl tights), but he is really unique too. I haven't come across another Preemie with the smaller head, sweet smile, and green eyes. They are both very handsome little boys. However, as much as I adore Sheldon, I think I like Nathan even more!
Hi ya! My name is Patches! I am a young, energetic, happy-go-lucky dog in need of a forever home. I love to play with toys. I will romp and run, tossing them around in the air, tail always wagging with a big, heartwarming grin on my face. I get along well with other dogs, especially those who will play with me. I also have a sweet, friendly, loving personality. I enjoy being petted and told I'm a good boy. I have been around cats and I pretty much ignore them. I am a good dog who is looking for a home where people have the time and energy to spend with me, play with me and shower me with love and kisses. Could that be you? Apply today! Adoption fee: $75. Adopt a pair: $115. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, 60 days of free pet insurance, one session with a certified behavior trainer and microchip. Apply online: www.pawsforliferescue.org

My first DashnDazzle 'girl" modeling an original design called "Patches". What shall I name her? It must be something elegant! David deserves no less for this masterful work of art! Thank you, David!
