KUALA LUMPUR: The MCA Job Fair will be held at Wisma MCA on April 9.
The one-day event will be launched by MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat.
MCA vice-president Datuk Kong Cho Ha said the event would be the national launch for Project Revitalise, which was a part-time employment programme aimed at providing online part-time job matching and training opportunities for job seekers and employers.
“Project Revitalise is a new initiative to assist those affected by the economic crisis. We aim to bring employers and job seekers together for job opportunities,” he told a press conference at Wisma MCA here yesterday.
The event is a collaboration between MCA’s ICT Resource Centre (MIRC), YourPartTime.com, xTrain and MCA Youth’s economic special task force.

But seriously, I have been remiss with my B-a-D but I do have a good excuse. I have found part time job, and the schedule and adjustment has been a little difficult for me.
As part of fall semester’s “Week of Welcome” festivities, Pitt Community College Career Services held a party—complete with balloons, glow sticks, strobe lights and music—to launch its new online jobs and career resources platform, Bruiser’s Briefcase.
Bruiser’s Briefcase allows students to view and apply for full- and part-time jobs and internships, schedule appointments with Career Services staff, and sign up for on-campus Career Services events. The new and intuitive career management platform can be accessed from any computer or smart phone, and students can use the app to search for and follow specific employers to stay aware of employment opportunities and on-campus visits.
This random guy, just one out of the hundreds participating in this parade, is probably getting paid for his trouble. A couple of guys I know participated as a part time job. It's pretty easy, you just get dressed and march. A lot of people are volunteers though. Don't know the ratio.

AN historic former Ribble Valley pub could given a new lease of life and be transformed into a Co-operative store.
The Grade II-listed Whalley Arms has been shut since May last year after the tenant's agreement with owners Enterprise Inns came to an end.
The Co-operative Group has submitted plans to Ribble Valley Council to change the use of the pub in King Street.
The closure comes after a number of complaints were received by the council in 2014 about the condition of the building which is located in the centre of the village.
A spokesman for the Co-op said the new store would create a number of full time and part-time jobs but was unable to confirm how many.

September 10-17 is National GEAR UP Week and an assembly kicked it off at Lincoln HS on Monday morning.
The featured speaker was Kile Snider, valedictorian from Lincoln’s class of 1984.
Snider was introduced by John Gilman, GEAR UP Iowa’s Project Coordinator and a classmate who remains a close friend. Snider recalled that when he was a high school junior he sang in the school’s choir, played football and worked a part-time job at Dahl’s in addition to his classwork. After graduation he studied engineering at Iowa State and later earned a Master’s Degree at Cal-Davis before launching a career in municipal wastewater purification that’s based now in Fort Collins, CO and has taken him as far around the world as Australia. Literally, Snider’s work makes the world a better place.

Hi, I work on the web.
It all started out way back in 1996, in Belgium. First a hobby, then a part-time job, self-employed. I loved the possibilities the web had to offer, the unruliness, the openness. It was new (in Belgium), but slow. Netscape was hot. Computers expensive.
I got my break early on, in 1997 when I joined a young start-up company which had lots of potential. We did e-commerce, developing online payment systems. We survived the bubble burst a couple of years later, and kept on growing.
Ten years on I find myself halfway around the world, in Sydney. All because of the web, its opportunities. And the Sydney web community is very much alive, with lots of talented people to learn from, which keeps me as passionate as ever before, to learn, find out more about anything web related. I'd loved to be more involved in the community. But I'm pretty shy to begin with, and a language barrier doesn't help.
I can only guess what the next ten years will bring for me, or where the web will take me next.

For the March 20, 2012 photo challenge the word was "Funny" I am in the midst of moving and am not finding much of anything funny at the moment. So here is a photo from my 365 days photos last year that is kind of funny.
Day 3 - You can tell a lot about a person from the tee shirts they wear. So I thought I would do a tee shirt week this week. For the past 15 seasons South Park has been one of my favorite TV shows. I have several tee shirts with South Park characters. This tee shirt has Towlie who likes to get high. His tag line is "I have no idea what is going on." Several years ago I was working a part time job at Barnes and Noble Booksellers. Most of the time I was assigned to the information and help desk. When the store made its quota of Barnes and Noble member cards sales for the week, we were allowed to dress casual on the weekends. One such casual day I wore this tee shirt to work in the help and information booth. The staff got a big laugh out of it, but I don't think any of the customers got the joke.

The artist began working in this format when he was a student and commuted long distances to various part-time jobs. The 3" canvases were small enough for him to carry in his backpack and paint on the subway!

Taken on the night of the river lighting. Working 2 part-time jobs with full-time hours has really set me behind on editing and uploading photos, not to mention sleeping. Now that I've had a chance to even the schedule out, I've had some time to work on my photos. So expect some late Christmas shots and other various photos from the past 3 months.
On Thursday, August 27, Stevenson University’s Office of Career services held a Part-time Job Fair. During the fair, students were able to network with a diverse group of local employers and Stevenson faculty and staff to learn about a variety of job opportunities.
I know I know, I've been terribly inactive, got myself a part time job you see guys, just adjusting to it and trying to balance my time :)

well, whoo. where to start on this one? hmmm...
growing up, i had a fairly common childhood. nothing too extraordinary. i didn't suffer much. i had a few strange things happen, but honestly, nothing much more than drama. we didn't have medical scares and lots of other crap like that. i have never really learned how to deal in an emergency situation, as a result.
when i turned 18, my life changed completely. i became pregnant, married over spring break, graduated, bought a house and had a baby. three and a half years later that baby was diagnosed with an incurable disease. that was my first big emergency. second one came a year or so later when his little sister, only a year and a half old decided to poison herself and nearly die. a year after that, my father was covered in 3rd degree burns. a few other "minor" crisis' and here we are at today.
my husband is intelligent. he's also quite talented. he has worked very hard for everything he has. he is a good person. but i'll be damned if anything comes easy for him. he has never really had a hard job, but has always managed to work for the real assholes out there. or, as my mother refers to them, "sand paper of life". the ones that supposedly smooth out your rough spots by forcing you to be a better person. my mother is a very unlucky soul, unfortunately and has adopted many ideas to help her exist in such an unfair life (trust me, she's been through hell)...
well, about 6 months ago, my husband finally caught a break. he got a great work from home job making more money than ever before. we had all kinds of freedom. (and for the record, in 7 years, i've only had a couple of part time jobs, as i've opted to be a stay at home mom). it's been really wonderful. he decided to try and get another job about a month or so back and was in the process of trying to set up interviews and such when he got an email from his boss telling him to call him.
yeah. he got fired today.
so, fortuna has opted to spin her wheel today. and this is the fate landed on for us. the reality of it? we have a mortgage, a car payment, car insurance, a child that MUST have medical care and about $20,000 worth of debt that begs our attention each month.
we'll be okay, right? we have to be. we have no choice.

Danilo had lived in Dimitrovgrad all his life, living with his mother and working in his hometown until two years ago when started working in Bulgaria. He traveled to work from Dimitrovgrad to Slivnica, about 30 km away, and sometimes stays there for a few weeks. When COVID began and the borders closed, he couldn’t go to work or travel anymore, so he was out of work for several months. Currently without any regular income, he hopes to start working again soon. Now, he starts to work a part time job, checking train wagons in the customs space in Dimitrovgrad, before they go to Bulgaria.
In rural Serbia, many make a living from dairy farming. With the pandemic, prices for milk or cheese sharply fell, as did their market, and many families are hurting. Meanwhile, young people who might have left to find work elsewhere are feeling trapped in the countryside. also now restricted.

This is one of the few actual bills I have, sitting in my desk drawer for when I need to pay my roommates' for using their printer. I don't have a lot of cash to my name. I'm in college and have a part time job, but I never seem to have enough money. I worry a lot about my finances and it's a big source of stress in my life. I wish I had enough money that I didn't have to worry about it so much and whether or not I will be able to pay my rent next month. Everything is just so expensive nowadays.

Elmer’s Aunty
Elmer’s Aunty is the Elderly (but rather chic) aunt of the much loved book children’s book character Elmer. She is full of colour and is painted with designs taken from fabric swatches, in a patchwork style. She is inspired by the recent trend for using a patchwork upholstery fabrics to up cycle furniture and by the beautiful fabric swatches that we use in my part time job at an interior designers.
