A 29 lbs, $85 hunk of 7075 aluminum plate 1-1/2 X 12-/3/4 X 15-3/8 gotten off eBay, which will become the new pier adaptor plate for my new Paramount ME.

Paramount Pictures sold the Ranch in the 1940s when westerns fell out of favor with movie audiences.

The top of the Paramount Building (1501 Broadway) is illuminated with 3 Times Square in the background.
It's tough to find a spot in Times Square to set up a tripod without blocking traffic. I squeezed myself against a pay phone to get this shot.

Parking lot by day...water set at night!
This sunken portion of parking lot at Paramount Studios (5555 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles) is used to film exterior water scenes. Remove the cars, add water, lights, and backdrop, and…voila!
One of the movie theater palaces prevalent in the US during the 1900s-1930s. Built in 1931, this was the largest in the west, able to seat 3400 people. Its massive and expensive art-deco furnishings cost $3million to build, and its high overhead caused Paramount to close the theater only a year later. It managed to recover by WWII, continuing until 1970. It is currently used as the Oakland symphony theater.
