After growing up with Universal Studios, I was jaded to backlots until I visited Paramount Pictures. This lot is small, but stunning in its detail. The buildings are unique and look real from many angles. The architecture is not specific and quite varied, but those details just slayed me. Even the cracks in the sidewalk were planned by an art director. I stayed far too long, but adored the Paramount Pictures backlot.

I bought this 1992 Paramount OS frame in 2008. It had been hanging on display at a LBS for over 15 years. One day I took it down off the wall and measured it. The frame was my size, 55cm. Out the door...

It's made with heat treated True Temper OS tubing and with sewups its about an 18 Lb. bike.

I built it up with a mishmash of black components for looks.

This is one of the best handling bikes that I own.

Bloody good coffee.

This theatre is haunted! The theatre offers free tours weekdays until 5:00, so I decided to go in. First off, it's one of if not the most beautiful theatre i've ever been in. But after I took my first picture I knew this place was haunted. Almost all of my pictures have orbs. At onepoint I had to press the power button on my camera 6 times just for it to turn on! Most of the pictures turned out dark, blurry, and had orbs! I'm using a 14 megapixel camera. Meanwhile my friend, who's using a 5 megapixel Iphone, is taking great shots! I have honestly never felt so creeped out before, and i've been to MANY haunted places. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful theatre if you're in town, and be sure to bring your digital recorder to catch some EVP'S!

Check out my blog for even more on this old theatre: fables86-texasroadtrips.blogspot.com/

Potteries Motor Traction's coaching arm, Paramount Leisure, ran this Bova Europa for Global Tours. Fleet number 34, and registered 5702 PL, it had been new to Barrett, Nantwich as MTU 1Y in February 1983. It passed to Potteries in April 1986.

The photograph was taken in the Place de la Liberation, in Dijon, France, whilst on a tour in August 1987. An alternator failure during the same tour just a week later led to it being replaced by Potteries Scania C112 DTM, driven overnight from Hanley to Blois as a replacement. When it was repaired and returned the UK its days were numbered - it was sold by PMT in October 1987, registered FEH 770Y.

It subsequently worked in Northern Ireland for Atkinson, Whiteabbey, as MXI 3326, and later for Saunderson & Poots, Lurgan, finally passing to the Lurgan Free Presbyterian Church in April 1998. It went to an Irish dealer in October 2007 some 20 years after this picture, and was scrapped.

Now, getting off Route 66 for a few shots, and onto Polk Street, we see once again, almost every city has a Paramount Theater.

This is Amarillo's version.

Earlier this morning, I photographed the Paramount Hydra being unloaded at Benicia's Trans-load Facility. Here, the ship is passing Eckley Pier and headed down the Carquinez Straits under the I-80 Bridges.

This is an extremely fine handling bike. The OS True Temper tubing makes it light and smooth riding with no sign of whippiness.
