Love, today, was standing in a parking lot, when it was dang friggin' cold, coaching my seventeen-year-old as he practiced parallel parking. We pretended that two empty garbage cans were the bumpers of cars in front of, and behind, the parking space he wanted.
I think Evan decided that parallel parking isn't as easy as it looks!
O to yearn so strongly as I do to be delivered safely past this hideous obstacle! Maybe it's probably best just to walk over to the other side of the street? Maybe things will probably be better over there?

This shot is for my boys, because the last time I got into a tight space (not nearly as tight as this one) they both pointed out that I was too far from the curb. Picky, picky! Did I do okay this time, guys? :)
The first time in a little while that I successfully completed a parallel park on the first try without hitting the curb.
Sad, but true. My strength used to be the Parallel Park years ago when I used to drive more frequently. But after not having driven in 5 years or so, it turns out that my Major has become my Minor.
I fucked it up on the road test. I fuck it up all the time. By "fucked it up", I don't mean really fucking it up, but I'm a perfectionist and take great pride in what I do. So nailing this on the first try made me happy. And since I had nobody with me to share my elation... that's where you come in.

I see a lot of bad park jobs but this one stood out so much I had to take a photo of it. The car was an easy two and a half to three feet from the curb. I'm not even sure the person actually "pulled over".
