An abandoned farm house in the middle of a field, about 15 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. You are looking at the kitchen, known from the previous picture.

On the way to fly back to Japan, I found another airplane flying in parallel. It's the first time for me to see such a scene!

Centuries ago many people believed that the Earth was at the centre of the Universe and was surrounded by crystal spheres. In the modern age science fiction writers and some scientists would have us believe in a "Parallel Universe" where there is an alternative existence. I have tried to recreate this in a photographic image. If one had an optical device that could look at Earth from a light year away, we would see ourselves in the past.

Had the pleasure of sharing this beautiful place w/ my good friend Brent McGuirt last weekend - check out Brent's new website. The hike is easy and full of beauty as the trail parallels Brush Creek and then the Bluestone River. Numerous wildflowers were blooming and the new greens of spring were beginning to emerge. The trail leads to the point where White Oak Creek empties into the Bluestone River. To access the waterfall requires a tricky scramble and climb, but it is well worth it.
I first visited this waterfall close to 20 years ago, and have returned only a few times since. . . glad I finally made it back.

The running gear is almost perfectly parallel to the platform in East Strasburg while waiting to depart with the last trip of the day.
Parallel Motors mural.
Built during the 1880’s it originally served the needs of the local rural area as a Farmers & Graziers Co-op Agency, Stock & Station agency before it eventually became a Chrysler car sales outlet which offered fuel and mechanical services.
Today it still provides the local community with a huge range of services.
In the course of its life the building has witnessed the dawning of the 20th and 21st century, two world wars, the Great Depression and so many great and historical world events.
It survived the floods of 1928, 1950’s, 1990 and it took a battering on 14th November 2022 but it still survives.
Of all these events it was the catastrophic flood sometimes referred to as the inland tsunami of 2022 that almost proved to be its demise.
Yet through sheer gut busting work and effort Parallel Motors of Eugowra still stands as if in sheer defiance.
It was evident that as the flood waters began to recede that not one of the towns 700 population has escaped the devastation.
As rural communities do they all banded together to assist each other and this process is still continuing today.
In 2012 a committee was formed to establish a means of attracting tourism to the town and so it was decided to create murals that would depict local history and events.
Enter a group of dedicated and talented artists who set their skill sets to work over an 11 year time frame to create the stunning murals.
Eugowra became known as the Village of Murals.
In May 2023 an estimated 20 artists and sign writers converged on the village to restore at least three of the damages murals including the mural that adorns Parallel Motors entitled ‘Cars of Yesteryear’.
All the works are undertaken on a voluntary basis and at no cost to the community.
Slowly but surely Eugowra is coming back from the destruction and now with a number of murals already being repaired and restored the visitors are also returning.
Eugowra is situated just 36 kilometres from Forbes on The Escort Way (scene of Australia’s largest ever holdup on 16 June, 1862 Frank Gardiner and his gang of bushrangers held up an armed gold escort and stole 2,719 ounces of gold (84.56 kg) and £3,700 in cash) with a distance to Sydney being 330 kilometres .

An extremely late CN 310 is through Beaconsfield with CN 8846 at the head end and CN 3025 mid-train as it parallels autoroute 20 on a frigid afternoon.
These pretty looking Mexican farm fields were growing next to the San Dunes. Vast fields that went on forever it seemed. Don't ask me what was growing here. I wish I knew what it was, something green and leafy but not something obvious like lettuce or spinach.
When we were driving I told my daughter that some of these fields looked unusually green, like neon green. I said it must be all the chemicals they add. But actually, some of these farms around here are organic, so who knows?
