I was glad to see that the small aquatic pig (see "note") appears to have made it out of the cold water.
The good weather (near 60 degrees) brought scads of people to Letchworth SP.
The sun was right in my face at Papermill Falls.
Just started using a camera again after mostly using my phone over the last few months, as my old 5D gave up. I got myself n ancient Canon 20D, tiny little screen on the back, no live view.
It pack a whopping 8 megapixels....steady now!
I've gone and bought myself a new lens, the Canon kit one, with image stabilisation, light as a feather. There not up to 5D standards, but I'm happy with the quality.

Historic remnant of the 1844 Valley Paper Mill which was destroyed by fire in the early 1890s. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Alcove, New York.
Only on the parking lot side of Papermill Falls can pictures be taken that don't show the graffiti-laden bridge.
i've been wandering the vacant halls of my favorite abandoned papermill again.
i like it here so much, i actually made a movie about it.

Up in the hills there is an old burned down paper mill.
The This barn and the house of the owners survived.
I love this barn becaus of his nordic color.

This rather odd picture, taken from above the falls, and the one below shows how the low water Papermill Falls is surrounded by and made more beautiful by the resting fall leaves.
By the way, I will be leafing for a trip to the Laural Highlands of PA on Monday 10-22....returning late that Friday.
After going to Papermill Falls about a dozen times now, I have come to the conclusion that photographically the parts are greater than the whole. This is one of my favorite segments.

Wansbrough Paper Mill in Watchet closed on Christmas Eve, 170 people have lost their jobs.
The mill has been operating for around 250 years.
The Papermill in Canton NC is Controversial. While it remains the economic backbone of the town, there are concerns with pollution due to the awful odor emitted from the plant
