Leigh Brook winding through woodland in West Worcestershire. An early morning trip to the Knapp and Papermill reserve run by the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust. A very still morning allowed some relatively long exposures without too much movement in the trees etc. A sublime green glow surrounded the brook and hope I’ve captured some of the feeling.

The late Kevin McGarvey has LA&L 454 & 450 barking up the grade at Papermill Road in Avon, NY on the evening of July 16, 1997. The 450 & 454 became LA&L 423 & 424, and they have not been on the LA&L proper for a long time. They currently reside on the B&H and were also the startup power for the WNY&P.

Stunning metallic blue on this male Beautiful Demoiselle Damselfly, with the sun catching the iridescent wings. There were plenty of these Beautiful Demoiselles dancing around the brook in the afternoon sunshine. (Calopteryx virgo).

No GP30 today. In preparation for the major snow that is forecast for tonight I offer up LA&L 420 - 428 - 425 with 11 cars in the snow at Papermill Road in Avon, NY on March 15, 2017. I wish the LA&L would go back to the morning start time for the road train so I could go out and catch them before I have to leave for work at 11am. Currently the road train starts at noon.
A damp, dull morning in the woods. There was not much mist first thing, but it built up through the early morning, and almost gave the impression that the woods were steaming. Seen at The Knapp and Papermill, a Worcestershire Wildlife Trust reserve.
