Mum called the other day, and told me how people have pestered her and dad about the photos I've posted (here and on my Facebook account): the make up and androgyny doesn't sit well with people back home. She went on to ask me to stop photographing myself and find models instead. Almost a year ago, all she said was how lovely my photos are.
I'm sorry Ma, but I can't let haters snuff my love for creating. It's one of the few things that keeps me sane and happy amongst the death and illness at work.

Earlier today the light on the kitchen table caught my eye and I wanted to take a picture but was too busy. Fortunately the sky has been heavily overcast all day, when I stopped for lunch it was still looking good and I grabbed a few pictures.
To achieve the picture I wanted, only a few simple edits were needed: some slight straightening, warming the light a little, and cropping and adding a vignette to draw the viewer into the photograph.

Any resemblance of these delightfully whimsical animals to any biological pets that you may have well loved and owned is merely coincidental.
