Valentine's gifts all wrapped up! Aren't these Whimsy Paper wrapping sheets with the space invader things fun? And I adore that plaid paper. I've used it for practically every occasion (Christmas, b-days, baby showers) and it always looks right.
Last week I received this wonderful photo from a 4th grade class in Royalton, Minnesota. Their teacher, Erin, had tried out my Picasso Paper Bag Costume project with her entire class and agreed to share her results. Are these a bunch of cute and creative kids or what? I love all the colorful faces and the animated posing too, it really makes for a wonderful photo. Thanks kids, for letting me share your art with my readers.
One of my daily occupations at work is cutting paper. For example posters, folders, leaflets, etc. One of the machines we use to do so is a hydraulic cutter.
You can adjust the length of your object with a joystick and a small wheel. With a light-bar behind the knife you can aim at the cutting-line at your object. Then you use a foot controlled pressure bar to pin the object to the table. After that it's "all clear" (the knife is very sharp and it will cut your arm clear of) and you use the two green buttons to make the knife come down.
I'm trying to make some more machines that I work with, one, because it's a challenge and two, as details for a later larger moc.

EUR 1.50 each. Kibera Paper cards. Handmade from recycled materials by a group living in KIbera, the largest slum of Africa, and supported by All Saints' Cathedral's Youth Ministry.
May make these in ceramic. I don't usually anthropomorphize my art, but just couldn't resist in this case. These wouldn't be too hard to make in clay.
Our invitation, reply card, save the date, and thank you card. Our save the dates (eat, drink, and be married) were printed on coasters to introduce our cocktail theme. Our reply card mimicked this and said at the top "Eat. Drink. Be Merry." We came up with our own wording and printed the invitations and reply cards using an invitation kit.
