Just one page out of a four page packet

Also designed for The Life of Paper, this is a six unit version of the Enigma Cube. This is the inside view of the completed unit.

Update: I've been informed by David Mitchell that he had previously designed this 6 unit Enigma Cube. I do have a different design for a 6 unit Enigma Cube unit that is folded on the diagonal, but it's less elegant than this one. I'll post that soon.

Update #2: To be clear, this 6 unit Enigma Cube is the original design of David Mitchell and is published in his book, Paper Crystals. I had planned to come up with something different for use in the play, but David has graciously given his permission for this design to be included.

Ok, so this is for an art final piece. I made the dress out of newspaper, elastic, ribbon and phonebook paper. A LOT of folding, believe me. Hahaha.

More dress shots are on the way, including a pose and a leap. :)

I know the whole newspaper dress thing is pretty overdone, but i had a dream about this design, and i really wanted to construct it, being my first 3D piece and all. Very pleased with the outcome, and pleasantly surprised that the skirt is as puffy as it is! XD

Here's to hoping my cat doesn't mistake the dress and mannequin as a scratch post!

Anyways, i would like to thank Laura and the team for modelling and holding reflectors, and my dad for helping me fold, couldn't have got this shoot done without you! :)

Australian paper wasps build small nests under overhanging leaves, or the eaves of roofs. The nests may have up to 200 cells. This species is established in New Zealand.

Description

The Australian paper wasp Polistes humilis has a small head, with medium sized eyes and medium length antennae. The body is slender, with a very narrow waist and the length is about 1-1.5cm. There are two pairs of brown-tinted wings, with the first pair larger. The abdomen has some yellow/orange bands, but is mainly black. Paper wasps are longer and more slender than common and German wasps. When paper wasps fly they do not hold their legs close to their body. Seeing a wasp flying with "long dangly legs" identifies it as a paper wasp.

I'd love to be able to install some real shelves on my wall but can't because we rent. So I made these shelves out of some heavy paper, and stuck them to the wall using 3M ahesive strips.

May make these in ceramic. I don't usually anthropomorphize my art, but just couldn't resist in this case. These wouldn't be too hard to make in clay.

Original model by WayoftheRodent.com. Before anyone calls me on it, I could not find a suitable version of Gravitar's original side art, so I had to settle for the European version, which is identical except for the inside corner. If I can find a usable version of the original side art, I will update this model accordingly.
