Torn paper strips glued to blank sheet of paper -- next I'll cut horizontal strips to use in journals.
Designed and folded by: me
Medium: 30x30 cm VOG paper
Personally I like my rough draft in tracing paper better. I had this design for a while now, but it wasn't until now that I folded it. I wanted to use VOG paper for this design, and I think it's slightly overrated. It might be that the design calls for a different king of paper, but the paper was not as strong as i hoped.

Playing with fliers to make a paper doll for this week's twtme's scavenger hunt
Also to celebrate the no smoking ban coming soon!
May make these in ceramic. I don't usually anthropomorphize my art, but just couldn't resist in this case. These wouldn't be too hard to make in clay.
I used a spirograph toy with a pencil on grey paper to make these very subtle patterns that I'm just in love with.

Bengali New or Pôhela Boishakh (পহেলা বৈশাখ), occurring on 14th April, is the first day of the Bengali calendar, celebrated in both Bangladesh and Indian state of Bengal,
Boishakhi fairs are arranged in many parts of the country. Various agricultural products, traditional handicrafts, toys, cosmetics, as well as various kinds of food and sweets are sold at these fairs. The fairs also provide entertainment, with singers and dancers staging jatra (traditional plays), pala gan, kobigan, jarigan, gambhira gan, gazir gan and alkap gan. They present folk songs as well as baul, marfati, murshidi and bhatiali songs. Narrative plays like Laila-Majnu, Yusuf-Zulekha and Radha-Krishna are staged. Among other attractions of these fairs are puppet shows and merry-go-rounds. homemade gingerbreadcam camera (with homemade zoneplate) paper negative, 3 minute exposure, developed in Caffenol C, colorized in Photoshop
It has been a long time since I had a zoneplate image to share! I haven't had much luck with my exposures, as I learn this zoneplate's characteristics.
If I remember right, this zoneplate has 8 zones, and the first 2 are darkened. The flowers in focus are about 4 inches away from the aperature.
Aloha!

We visited a papermaking studio in the western mountains of Japan. Fascinating to see how hand papermaking is done in Japan.
