Ne è valsa la pena, un pieno di bellezza prima di un periodo di ricordi e fotografie passate.
An exaggerated day
When I was here, I already had the feeling that it was going to be the last hike in the mountains for some time.
It was worth it, full of beauty before more weeks full only of past memories and photographs.

Next to the Monserrate Sanctuary at the top of Monserrate Mountain is this private villa built in the 19th century.
Bogotá, Colombia
The road winds down to the picturesque village of Piesport; on the left side of the picture is the old village with cobblestone roads and traditional architecture, and on the right side the new part of the village.
Wine from the area can be tried-- and drunken --in many vineyards and restaurants.
I had a few days off over the Bank Holiday weekend and we tried to make most of this short break. On Saturday we picked a circular walk which promised stunning views of a remote part of Dartmoor. Little did I know what a challenging walk that would be - especially for our two little boys! The walk started along a 19th century leat which powered some mining-related mills in the past. Once we reached the river Tavy the challenge began as there was not really a path to follow. The boys enjoyed scrambling over the countless granite boulders right next to the rushing stream as well as stepping through very boggy parts - it had been raining a lot before after all. In any case, we all managed to return safely and were rewarded with some stunning scenery and incredible views from top of Hare Tor.

E' sempre molto piacevole andare in collina a Vignola al Sagittario, il clima è molto buono, si respira un'aria molto frizzante.
Sempre alcuni anni fà con la Pentax ci sono andata molto spesso.
Penso di ritornare con i prossimi colori autunnali.

It is always very pleasant to go to the hill to Vignola at Sagittario, the climate is very good, breathing a very sparkling air.
Always years ago, I've been with the Pentax very often.
I think I'll go back there with the next autumn colors.
Want to join me on a walk to Lockleys Pylon in the Blue Mountains?
It’s tucked away in one of the quieter corners of the national park — a place that feels more like a local secret than tourist track. Chances are we’ll have the whole trail to ourselves or see very few people on the there & back hike..
The walk is around 8km return and should take about 2–3 hours depending, of course, on how often we stop to take photos (which is likely to be often).
It begins with a narrow, rocky uphill section, flanked by classic bushland - gum trees, scrub, and that unmistakable scent of the mountains. Once we reach the ridge, the landscape opens up and the real show begins: distant peaks and sweeping valleys in every direction.
The wind is picking up now - enough to make you lean into it. If you look close you can see the track stretching ahead in this photo, toward Lockleys Pylon in the far distance, cutting across open heath. The bushland fades, the wind howls, and the views become spectacular. It's one of those moments that makes you stop and simply stare. You feel so alive. I like to pretend I'm part of the fellowship of the ring and state to whoever I'm walking with, "we aren't in the shire anymore"
After reaching the Pilon, we settle onto a few sun-warmed rocks, taking in panoramic views over the Grose Valley, with the golden sandstone cliffs of Mount Hay and Mount Banks glowing in the light. We rehydrate, snack on a apple and protein bars, and marvel at the fact we haven’t seen another person all day. It truly feels like we’ve found the top of the world.
We’re not here in unfortunately spring, so the wildflowers aren’t in bloom — but the thought of returning to see that colourful display is already in our minds. Eventually, we head back, spirits high and legs just the right kind of tired. Time now to decide which cosy mountain café or restaurant we’ll reward ourselves with and relive the walk over dinner.

Imponente, massiccio e ben conservato. Tra i castelli del Ducato di Parma e Piacenza, quello di Torrechiara è senz'altro uno dei più suggestivi. Un gigante tra le verdi colline che non smette mai di stupire.
Impressive, massive and well preserved. Among the castles of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza, Torrechiara it is certainly one of the most evocative. A giant among the green hills that never ceases to amaze.

Yellowstone Lake is awash in blue on this day last year, so I tried a panoramic photo. This is one beautiful place.
Hverfjall, sometimes also written Hverfell (which means "hot spring mountain" in Icelandic), is a tephra-cone volcano about 250 metres above the ground with a diameter of 1 km at the rim of the cone. The crater is more than 140 metres deep, and small lakes can be found at the bottom, especially during the winter season.
This scene shows a stand of Cypress Trees along an edge of a small lake at Orlando Wetlands Park, Florida. A section of the boardwalk is shown at the horizon in front of the forest of mixed trees.
Orlando Wetlands is a created wetland, owned by the City of Orlando...(sort of a situation of "build it, and they will come"...meaning the wildlife which seems to be flourishing, at least on our visit).

I left very early that day to capture some falling stars of the Geminids, but the clouds of an active front approached earlier than predicted. Around 2 hours later I was at least lucky enough to see the sunrise. Just a short sunburst and then the sky was completely overcast for the rest of the day.
Far in the distance between the fog and the clouds you can see the Alps of Central Switzerland and Bernese Oberland.

Das Foto ist eine bildliche Rückkehr in meine Jugend in Meissen. Hier auf der Bosel war unser Abenteuerplatz, der Blick von diesem 120 m hohen Felsen auf das Elbtal mit dem Blick auf Coswig, Radebeul und am Horizont Dresden hat mich schon immer fasziniert.

The photo is a visual return to my youth in Meissen. Here, on the Bosel, was our adventure spot. The view from this 120-meter-high rock over the Elbe Valley, with a view of Coswig, Radebeul, and Dresden on the horizon, has always fascinated me.
