A long time ago, I had a Pak 36, but I scrapped it several years back for parts. Now that the Wehrmacht is endlessly expanding, I felt the need to bring back this early war workhorse.

The 3,7cm Pak 36 was developed in the mid 1930s and was a very capable design for its caliber. Its light weight enabled it to be used by both airborne and mountain troops alike. However, by the time of the Invasion of France in 1940, and the arrival of tanks like the B1, the Pak 36 quickly became obsolete. Many tanks were armed with this weapon, such as the earlier Panzer IIIs, and these such tanks were inteded to be primarily tank hunters, while the Panzer IVs with the 75mm L/24 were intended to be used as fortifications destroyers. These roles switched as the Panzer III had difficulty mounting larger caliber guns, whilst the Panzer IVs were easily upgraded with longer barreled 75 milimeter guns.

The Pak 36 never fell out of use, as developments in ammunition extended its service life. Fallschirmjäger and other light units were armed with this gun up until the end of the war thanks to the Steilgrenate 41 shaped charge round, which gave the Pak 36 a massive boost in penetration power, at the expense of a sharp decrease in effective range, due to the low velocity of the round. This type of round is featured in the Band of Brothers episode "Carentan."

This nice policeman came to greet me while I had amazing time in remote fishing village of Madwaer, Kei Kecil.

Surprisingly, he asked not my motorcycle documtents or passport...he asked to take a picture of him. So, we went to this beautiful beach and that's the result :D

By the way, locals in this area do spearfishing for a living :)

If you don't believe that Kei has best beaches in Indonesia..VISIT IT ! its "just" 6 days on a ferry from Jakarta !

A relatively new design of mine which I didn't have time to post last week.

I started out by modifying my Pak 40 chassis, then duplicating it to make this. I am very happy with the result. The design is simple and I would say it captures the feeling of a Pak 38 pretty well.

One of the many kits I intended to release in late 2012. Simple to build and has many features such as:

A moving gun, adjustable supports, and a simple link up for a vehicle to tow it.

The wheels could always be flipped if you don't like the look on this side ;P

The funniest dog ever!! :D

An old studio now at the mercy of the MRT development, Pak Tai is merely surviving on business from police officers who need their passport photos taken. In the ’60s, it used to be the go-to place for wedding, graduation and family portraits. The backdrops – complete with doves and tacky embellishment – may not be your idea of cool, but throw owner Low Kok Kee an assignment like a period family portrait and he’ll recreate an artistic photo that looks like it was taken in the ’70s without Photoshop. This 4x2 Superior Pak Isuzu rear loader is one of the newest trucks servicing the C&I sector in Sydney, owned by one of the companies to most recently enter the garbage business. In actual fact Wanless isn’t really a new business at all, rather they have emerged from the ashes after selling out their operations to Veolia/Toxfree and waiting out the “no trading period”. Not overly long ago they entered the waste works in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney again with these signature green trucks instead of the blue they once used. They sourced some second hand vehicles to make up the beginning of their Sydney fleet, but they went totally fresh with this addition not long ago and I’m sure there are more to come.

A serious look in a serious suit. Which I never wear. And I got rid of the glasses too.

Needed to prune the pak lan tree today. Sadly, some branches had several flower buds and blooming flowers on them. Salvaged what I could and stuck them in a vase.

I didn't expect to take any landscape photos in Hongkong, but after seeing Danise's photos taken in Pak Ngai, I asked her to take me there.

It was high tide and we didn't see any abandoned tables and chairs there. These two little guys are somehow pretty interesting...

I had to use this fabric. Perfect storm of Peanuts, Halloween, works with vintage pak and just plain super cute. And (if there was such a thing) I want bonus points for recreating the purse/bag for Suburban Shopper. :-)
