Vandaag zijn er omleidingen omdat het traject via Apeldoorn buiten dienst is. Diverse cargo's rijden via de Veluwelijn, hetgeen een mooi aantal 1600's met zich mee brengt. De RRF 4401 is altijd weer een leuke verschijning door zijn aantrekkelijke kleurstelling, en ik leg hem dan ook met genoegen vast. Zou RRF te verleiden zijn om het rooster nog een keer goed schoon te maken of te verven?
Zojuist trok de 303008 Danique van Strukton een flinke lading betonnen dwarsliggers door Putten. Opvallend was dat de trein linkerspoor door Putten kwam en daar aan de kant werd gezet om de intercity te laten passeren. Dat gaf mij de gelegenheid om Putten weer eens uit een ongebruikelijke hoek te fotograferen.
Een laag zonnetje op de verkleurende bomen, met daarvoor zo'n mooie strakke blauwe Train Charter loc. Dat maakt toch gewoon een fraai beeld?
Zondag ochtend, kwart over tien, trekt de 101003 de Dolime weer op gang na een korte stop op het zijspoor. Het herfstzonnetje staat nog laag, maar weet nog wel net de neus van de trein een klein beetje te beschijnen. De schaduwen van de bomen vallen het en der nog over de trein, maar dat helpt juist een beetje om de kleuren van de loc eruit te laten springen.

I put out a hanging flower pot in the back deck and today I quickly snapped these guys (one in the bottom could be a young male or female). Tomorrow I will try to take my time and ensure my exposure etc are set right, so I can avoid the grain (below) and darkness (above) ..

GTWs zijn af en toe te vinden in Putten. Voor gaat het om de Blauwnet kleuren maar deze keer niet. Het waren de GTWs uit het Noorden samen met 303 in de oude kleurstelling.

I put this in my kitchen. I thought it turned out nice & it looks like it was painted on. It is actually a wall transfer that can be ordered. Of course it's not nearly as nice as some of the wall murals scarley flickr.com/photos/14887728@N04/ does, but the next best thing for those of us that aren't quite as artistic as she is.
Gisteren waren deze twee locs al even in Putten te zien met hun zusje Monique. Ergens in de nacht zijn Nicole en Demi weer terug gereden om deze sleep RailPro ballastwagens op te halen. Na een stop op het zijspoor staan ze hier op het punt om Putten te verlaten via de overweg aan de Volenbekerweg.

Zit ik rustig te ontbijten, krijg ik een berichtje van een lokale hobbyist dat er over drie minuten een blauwe SNG voorbij zal rijden. Met nog maar zeven blauwe SNG's op de baan in Nederland laat ik mijn ontbijtje even staan en pak mijn camera voor (alweer) een laatste foto van een blauwe SNG in Putten.
Op de foto draait de SNG 3012 het zijspoor op en de machinist zwaait vriendelijk naar me.
Vandaag kreeg ik een heads-up voor dit kleine treintje. Twee Gottwaldkranen en een supportwagon van VolkerRail, getrokken door een G1206 van Strukton. Een grappige combinatie die als trein 56450 over de Veluwelijn kwam.
In honor of winter I thought I’d put up another from Abraham Lake taken nearly a year ago on a trip up to Canada with Alan and David. This evening was an eventful shoot at the Belly of Abraham Lake with storm like conditions raging over the mountains. It was blistering cold and wickedly windy on the lake surface but the dramatic light made it worthy to be out.
These bubbles are a bit different from my previous posts as these are deeper below as if they are trying but unable to reach the surface. In the background is Mt Abraham with soft evening light and wispy clouds dithering off the summit. Hope you all stay warm for the remainder of winter.

Normaal komt de 61030 altijd op het meest ongunstige moment van de dag door Putten, als de zon recht op z'n kont staat. Maar deze dagen zijn er werkzaamheden tussen Meppel en Onnen, en moet de trein over het dieselspoortje via Leeuwarden naar Groningen. Om de reizigerstreinen op het enkelsporige baanvakje te ontwijken passeerde deze trein om 20:33 uur door Putten. Ook zou de trein in Meppel nog aan de kant gaan om de zwarte 189 te vervangen door een 6400. Ik was er blij mee.

We had a new fence put up around our back garden this week. It is going to really help me control soap bubbles as it helps to keep the wind from blowing bubbles around. It also makes for some cool reflections.
I spent around an hour trying to photograph the sunrise coming through soap bubbles this morning. It was fun and helped me relearn some of my bubble wrangling skills. The main thing is to make use of the light and shade areas available. Here, the fence was very bright with the low sun on it, and the dark shade is just from the shade from the fence behind.
To be continued, as the weather looks good for bubbling this week....
If you look carefully you can see the bubble's shadow on the fence. You can also see an insect hotel fixed to the fence.
No editing at all here. Only a small crop! Really satisfying for me to see good image quality from this camera and lens combination! It lets me know that exiting things are possible.

Mark puts the 2301 to work and adds some contrast to the sky by pulling 40 cars of pipe into America's Central Port. 23 cars from a previous pipe train remain on the property and that made for fun viewing of switching for Grady and I as we watched Mark & Mike stash these 40 cars in a few cuts around the port. Plenty of business is a good thing but will make for some tricky days of switching this week. Thanks to Mark for the heads up on this movement.

Vanmorgen zou de Euro9000 lok weer door Putten komen, dus ik stond op tijd klaar voor een foto. Groot was echter mijn verbazing toen zich dit trio aankondigde. Een V100 van RRF, een BR189 van MRCE en de Stadler Euro9000. Onder treinnummer 51390 kwamen ze om 10:33 uur binnen op het zijspoor, waar ze om 10:51 weer mochten vertrekken. Deze 18 minuten overstand maakte dat ik dit treintje drie keer in Putten kon fotograferen. Dit was de eerste foto, daarna ben ik nog naar het zijspoor gereden voor een tweede, en uiteindelijk heb ik het vertrek vanaf de kleine Beekweg gefotografeerd (zie andere foto).

Bijna dagelijks passeert trein 61030 rond 14:32 uur station Putten. Meestal is het een kort treintje met slechts een hand vol wagentjes. Tractie voor deze trein wisselt met de dag, evenals het type wagens in de trein. Best een leuk ding om te fotograferen dus.
Het nadeel van het tijdstip is dat deze trein bijna alleen met tegenlicht gefotografeerd kan worden. Dat levert nou niet altijd aantrekkelijke plaatjes op. Maar ja, de 61030 is tegenwoordig wél één van de drie vaste cargo's door Putten. Dus hij hoort wel in de collectie. Daarom vandaag gewoon een tegenlichtopname gemaakt op het punt waar de trein de Stationsstraat kruist. Een mooie schone Vectron trok vandaag de trein, met daarachter een 189'er.
Dankzij een waardevolle tip hoorde ik tijdig dat trein 61030 vandaag met een zwarte en rode 189'er zou rijden. Dat is wel een plaatje waard !
Helaas rijdt de 61030 altijd op een tijdstip dat de zon bijna recht van achteren staat, en dat maakt het niet altijd makkelijk om hem goed te fotograferen. Kijk maar naar de reflecties op de ribbels aan de zijkant. Vandaag bemoeilijkte de bewolking de foto nog eens extra, met de meest onmogelijke belichtingen. Toch ben ik niet ontevreden met het resultaat, waarbij ook de donkere wolken voor een waardevolle aanvulling zorgden.
Ook leuk om te horen dat er een bekende op deze trein reed, die me met een heel klein toetertje begroette. Hij meldde me ook dat de rode loc bestemd is voor de grondtrein uit Veendam, van vanavond.
