I put out my hummingbird feeders today with home made nectar, they were sipping on it but the flower nectar was also very popular.
Pennan in the north of Scotland is put out constantly to the tides of the sea. In my visit in early autumn it meant the weather still humanly, the sea remained relatively quiet. I ask myself how it looks fine here if sometimes a storm gathers.....

Pennan im Norden Schottlands ist ständig den Gezeiten des Meeres ausgesetzt. Bei meinem Besuch im Frühherbst meinte es das Wetter noch human, die See blieb verhältnismäßig ruhig. Ich frage mich, wie es hier wohl aussieht wenn mal ein Sturm aufzieht.....

Some trees have leaves that just refuse to drop to the ground in the fall. They beautifully cling to the tree providing a colorful contrast against the snow all winter long. They finally let go in the spring when the new soft green leaves take over their shift for the warm summer months.
Bugs puts on this look when I point the camera at him. And for all the world, it looks like he is asking me, "What are you doing?" He is a bright boy who opens up the cupboard which has the cat food in it. Even having a wooden spoon across the handles doesn't deter him as he shakes the bottom of the doors until the spoon falls off and he is in, like a flash and pilfering the cat food tin. And oh yes he can take the lid of the tin too. As I said, he is a very clever boy.
Xenia Rubinos put on one of my favorite performances at Pitchfork Music Festival, emerging first on the stage wrapped in bubble wrap and then trailing a ribbon of blood. It was quite profound. She really has a passion especially for sticking up for those who are being mistreated. I also randomly met her after her set and she was quite nice. I didn't have my camera out because it was pouring but it was still nice to be able to tell her how much I enjoyed her set.

The winter and the cold wave came to Switzerland.
With this picture I did not make it easy for me. At first I really could not decide which photo to put on flickr. I wrestled with myself, because I would like to present the most beautiful photo for my friends here. Secondly, the picture was made under very difficult external conditions, because it was really "bitterly cold". I could barely touch my hands after photographing and yet I wanted to get a nice photo of these beautiful ice crystals. I succeeded, more or less, because the background was not ideal for that. In addition, my faithful friend Roco had to wait for me and there I no longer want to start one try after another. This time I did not want to make any compromises with the warm colors of the picture, because the cold should be very touchable. I believe this has succeeded with this picture. I am fascinated by this "little work of art". Each little detail is a miracle of creation, because it was shaped by the elements of nature and radiates its brilliance as long as this nature allows.
I am grateful for these little things without which life would not be so beautiful and interesting.
