Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is a nature reserve in the city of Huntington Beach, California. It is designated by the California Department of Fish and Game to protect a coastal wetland, with its resident threatened and endangered species.

A small family of elephants on the move in Yala National Park in Sri Lanka. The baby is being well looked after.
25 year old female polar bear (Ursus maritimus) "Chinook" buried one of her fish in the snow and is now looking to see if she was seen by the other bears.

When I stopped admiring the source of the Rhine and looked behind me, I saw these protected Alpine beauties, the large (5 - 20cm) Alpine asters! Not just one, but a whole bunch. I had to climb higher on a steep slope, but I absolutely wanted a good shot of them.

Karen and I took a day trip to Jack Darling park venturing into the Rattray Marsh Protected Wetlands. the marsh has a mile and a half of railed boardwalk that meanders its way through the marsh; giving visitors an unobstructed view of the area and yet protecting the flora and fauna from being trampled.
This is a shot of A piece of wood covered in ice and glistening in the sunlight.

Much to Sethi's dismay he is still followed around a lot by his cousin Tofu. He is generally surprisingly indulgent with Tofu and rather tries to hide from him instead of reacting aggressively. The Laughing Buddha wasn't of much help, though, and the stalker soon spotted him.
