1306 Albemarle Road. John J. Petit, who designed more buildings in Prospect park South than any other architect, designed this corner building features intersecting peaked roofs and a conical turret. The huge, airy front porch wraps around the side. It was first owned by a dye manufacturer, John Eakins.

ISO 100 | 50mm | f1.6 | 1/80
Spent the afternoon out in Brooklyn yesterday and got a few decent bits and pieces. This is towards the northern end of Prospect Park.
I'm enjoying 50mm on the full frame so much that I'm considering forgetting about other equipment aspirations and investing in the 50mm f1.2L. I'll probably change my mind in about five minutes though.

Pink-backed pelican. Looks to me like it's drilling for oil. :)
near Prospect Harbor, Maine; built in 1891. The lighthouse is on the grounds of a U.S. Navy facility. The keepers house is now used as a recreational guesthouse for military personnel and their families.
Close to sunset on an overcast fall day. The lighthouse at Prospect Point keeps a few hardcore joggers company on the Sea Wall.

This is where the film maker Derek Jarman lived. He created an extraordinary garden on the most inhospitable ground. There is a unique atmosphere at Dungeness, I don't often use words like "spiritual" but whatever that means, this place has it in spades.
Taken on my iPhone, 3 exposures merged using an app called TrueHDR.
Press "L" to view on black. Definitely looks better!

Right outside of Audubon House in Prospect Park this. Colors.

On Facebook: And then there was this, right outside the Audubon house in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Colors. And this was another moment when it became clear how little I know about the things that are; as I have moved so much of my attention to things that are almost there, or not there, or ideas. (I guess that recent Facebook film was a good reminder of that. If Facebook is like chairs and a swing in a park. What are chairs like and swings in the park? Where is that connection to the things that actually sit closer to the reality we are not painting but blindly devouring?) A bit silly to have such thoughts in a very obviously man made park, of course. The living things in this picture here were all planted by someone. But let’s see if we can figure out what they are? And what do they do, besides of being there? What is their purpose in the universe? What are they doing?
As I stared at the colors among the green, I felt a bit like someone looking at the screen of a computer connected to the internet and just perceiving it as a glowing rectangle.
Yes, that kind of oblivious. Time for breakfast.
The first victim of the Beeching Cuts and remains in good structural condition despite the many leaks.
Ink and watercolor on location. A serene place to relax and look out over the Boathouse and Lullwater in Prospect Park.
Prospect Tunnel is a 900 yd long tunnel through the Follifoot Ridge just outside Harrogate near the Crimple Viaduct. It was closed to rail use in 1964.
