Thunderbird Dynasty Pole carved by Squamish (Salish) Chief Mathias Joe (a.k.a. Mathias Joe Capilano) and raised at Prospect Point in 1936 during Vancouver's Golden Jubilee. Carved in a northern style in Vancouver expressly to stand in Stanley Park; The pole was noted for not having been transported south from a community where it had served social and political functions.

This "pocket park" is located in front of the Greenville Water System building on Broad Street. The Greenville Water System is planning some major development behind this building, which may include another park.
Co-incidentally, Prospect Hill is the location where Vardry McBee of yesterday's post made his home in Greenville. The McBee house on Prospect Hill was demolished in 1920.
Prospect mill, Thornton. Photographed in 2015 shortly after the adjacent mill was destroyed by fire and subsequently demolished. Rather behind with the news, I have now learned that exactly the same fate befell this mill in July 2016.

“BEACH.— [Died] On the 14th November, at his residence, Audley House, Prospect, Frederick Dewe Beach.”[Register 15 Nov 1895]
“Mr. Frederick Dewe Beach. . . was the son of Mr. Charles Beach, of Audley House, North Audley-street, London, and was born on March 14, 1829. He was educated at Mordant Hall, Kent, and served his apprenticeship with Messrs. Hewett & Co, confectioners and caterers, of Regent-street, London. . . He left England for Adelaide at the age of 21 in the ship Sibella. . . After being in business for a few years in this city Mr Beach left for the Victorian goldfields and worked at Ballarat, Bendigo, Forest Creek, and other rushes. . . on his return he opened a confectioner's establishment in Brown-street, removing afterwards to the precent premises in Hindley-street. . . Mr. Beach married the eldest daughter of the Rev. James Way who survives him. The family consists of Messrs. Fred, Sydney, Herbert and Frank Beach, and Misses Jeanie and Olive Beach.” [Advertiser 15 Nov 1895]

Ryan (Prospect) Hill Interpretive Area can be found from Casper by travelling Highway 20/26 North East to Zero Road which transitions into Poison Spider Road you will travel said road approximately 10.5 Miles to County Road 319. Turning left at the intersection and then traveling County Road 319 approximately 16 miles where the turnout for the site can be found.
