I have replaced my feeders with one that is "so far" squirrel proof and another that is filled with food that the squirrels don't like. I caught this one munching on an acorn...of which there are tons of them in the area. The only bird food that the squirrels are getting is that which the birds spill out of the feeder...lol.

Wall-E hopes Eva will like him on their first proper date.
He dressed up special and everything.
He'd have bought flowers... but you know... he's not very good with organic lifeforms.
Wish him luck...

Yeah, she's a proper lady for sure....but tomorrow I'll show you another side of my sexy little vixen. Life isn't always about doing the right thing is it? π
By the way, friends and family get to see the show....so if you are not already a friend, merely ask, and ye shall receive.
I reckon this is by far my best damselfly shot yet. Had a great morning out with these little emerald damsels. Even though it was early they where quite active so there was a lot of failed stacks! Love the upright position of this one though.

Amsterdam is the capital city and most populous municipality of the Netherlands. Its status as the capital is mandated by the Constitution of the Netherlands, although it is not the seat of the government, which is The Hague. Amsterdam has a population of 851,373 within the city proper, 1,351,587 in the urban area and 2,410,960 in the metropolitan area. The city is located in the province of North Holland in the west of the country but is not its capital, which is Haarlem. The metropolitan area comprises much of the northern part of the Randstad, one of the larger conurbations in Europe, with a population of approximately 8 million.
Amsterdam's name derives from Amstelredamme, indicative of the city's origin around a dam in the river Amstel. Originating as a small fishing village in the late 12th century, Amsterdam became one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age (17th century), as a result of its innovative developments in trade. During that time, the city was the leading centre for finance and diamonds. In the 19th and 20th centuries the city expanded, and many new neighbourhoods and suburbs were planned and built. The 17th-century canals of Amsterdam and the 19β20th century Defence Line of Amsterdam are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Since the annexation of the municipality of Sloten in 1921 by the municipality of Amsterdam, the oldest historic part of the city lies in Sloten (9th century).
As the commercial capital of the Netherlands and one of the top financial centres in Europe, Amsterdam is considered an alpha world city by the Globalization and World Cities (GaWC) study group. The city is also the cultural capital of the Netherlands. Many large Dutch institutions have their headquarters there, including Philips, AkzoNobel, TomTom and ING. Also, many of the world's largest companies are based in Amsterdam or established their European headquarters in the city, such as leading technology companies Uber, Netflix and Tesla. In 2012, Amsterdam was ranked the second best city to live in by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and 12th globally on quality of living for environment and infrastructure by Mercer. The city was ranked 3rd in innovation by Australian innovation agency 2thinknow in their Innovation Cities Index 2009. The Port of Amsterdam to this day remains the second in the country, and the fifth largest seaport in Europe. Famous Amsterdam residents include the diarist Anne Frank, artists Rembrandt van Rijn and Vincent van Gogh, and philosopher Baruch Spinoza.
The Amsterdam Stock Exchange, the oldest stock exchange in the world, is located in the city centre. Amsterdam's main attractions include its historic canals, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum, Hermitage Amsterdam, the Anne Frank House, the Scheepvaartmuseum, the Amsterdam Museum, the Heineken Experience, the Royal Palace of Amsterdam, Natura Artis Magistra, Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam, NEMO, the red-light district and many cannabis coffee shops. They draw more than 5 million international visitors annually. The city is also well known for its nightlife and festival activity; several of its nightclubs (Melkweg, Paradiso) are among the world's most famous. It is also one of the world's most multicultural cities, with at least 177 nationalities represented.

Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands, has more than one hundred kilometers of grachten (canals), about 90 islands and 1,500 bridges. The three main canals (Herengracht, Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht), dug in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, form concentric belts around the city, known as the Grachtengordel. Alongside the main canals are 1550 monumental buildings. The 17th-century canal ring area, including the Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht and Jordaan, were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010, contributing to Amsterdam's fame as the "Venice of the North".

The Staalstraat in Amsterdam is a street in the inner city that connects the Kloveniersburgwal (at the Nieuwe Doelenstraat ) with the Zwanenburgwal (at the Waterlooplein ). The Staalstraat crosses the Groenburgwal and the Verversstraat ends at the Staalstraat.
The street closed to car traffic is a shopping street with cafes and eateries.
On the Staalstraat / Kloveniersburgwal corner, with riveted steel and wrought iron parts and an aluminum road surface, the Aluminum Bridge (bridge 222) from 1896 is located. The Staalmeesters Bridge (bridge 227), a white-painted wooden drawbridge over the Groenburgwal, is a popular tourist spot because of the view of the Zuiderkerk . The bridge can be seen on Claude Monet's painting De Zuiderkerk, Amsterdam seen from the Groenburgwal . The B. Bijvoet Bridge ir. (229) in line with the street across the Zwanenburgwal forms the connection (for pedestrians and bicycles) to Waterlooplein and Stopera .

Ah the days of First when anything could turn up on anything!
This superb Duple 425 turned up in Penzance on the 18 from Camborne (not that you could tell no visible blinds, good job I noted the working in a note book after checking with the driver!)
Found even more of my old snap earlier on a CD that I had misplaced, taken ages sifting through them, exciting way to spend a Sunday afternoon! :-)
CSXT 8357 and 5233 lead a K train loaded with stone that will be interchanged to the AVR at Glenwood yard. The train consisted of a lot of former Algoma Central hoppers.
The other year one of my photographer friends commented on one of my sunrises that I'd "wimped out, Higger Tor you can almost shoot that from the car, try a 2am start yomp for an hour (up hill) to get to the spot 1hr before sunrise thats proper summer landscape photography".
In which case, he'll ****ing hate this, as this sunrise involved opening the curtains to our Welsh holiday apartment, thinking that's a yummy sunrise, grabbing the camera, and sticking it out the window.
After its arrival from Baguio City, this bus was used to shuttle local residents from the town proper to Brgy. Ambasing.

I've been told that I draw "like a five year old". I don't think that those people get that I choose to draw that way. I *could* draw in this style all the time, if I wanted to, but I don't (although I do enjoy it now and then.)
This was a v. quick drawing because Mr P. kept moving.

Sankoo is a town 40km from Kargil. Like Parkachik, Sankoo is also part of the Suru valley. However being close to the main district place has its advantages. The affluence of the people here, as against the rest of the valley is reflected in their houses.
Stone structures are not found anywhere. All houses are made of local bricks and have highly stylised textures. They even have tin roofs and proper wooden doors. (Tin roofs and actual doors vanish a little further into the valley.)
Bright coloured window and door frames are a part of every house here too! And they all have cute little flower pots on their windows.
My affinity for pumps is not what it once was, I'm drawn more to strappy open toe sandals with a little pizzazz these days. This pair of classic pencil thin 5 inch stilettos are an exception. These were sent to me by a friend in Europe over the Winter and I've been looking forward to some warmer weather to break them out.
An exercise in digital compositing. Model shot strobist style against a blue chroma background with 2 sb-24 flashes. One from camera right at full power trough umbrella. The other bare from camera left behind the model at 1/8 or 1/16. I really should have gone with some proper studio heads, as I had to use ISO 400 and the recycling time of the main light got pretty long. Balloons modeled and simulated with nCloth in Maya and rendered with Maxwell.
