What is the difference between the transparency of space and the presence of place?
Inspired by Harry Gruyaert. photo; Ouarzazate.
For months I have been studying and shooting the transparency of space like Stephen Shore. Then I was introduced to this cat Gruyaret and his compelling embracing of empty place.
This is supposed to get easier not harder !!!!
The relationship between the runner and that car are vital to the structure of the center stage. While the people and poles at the periphery are important in creating the gateway to the back of the picture.
Today I returned to the place that I spread my big boy Milo's ashes. In the week since we have experienced 14 inches of rain, a destructive east coast low we haven't since the likes of since in the 1990's and finally the huge swells from a cyclone just off our coast. Nobby's beach has changed dramatically in that time. I kind of think the Good Lord took Milo's ashes out to sea in a way I could not.
The outskirts of Fernley Nevada where the rails meet. There's not much going on here otherwise. Still, I found this to be a most interesting spot. Lots of land and nothing to do with it. A true slice of the rural Western US.
Fernley Nevada
My garden is my refuge and my happy place. I love to get my hands dirty, pottering about, pulling weeds, trimming and pruning. And I do go a bit crazy with colour - none of your minimalist green garden for me! Roses and other cut flowers are a bonus. These “Double delight” roses are one of my all time favourites.
Monthly challenge: My favourite things
“All events and experiences are local, somewhere. And all human enhancements of events and experiences -- all the arts -- are regional in the sense that they derive from immediate relation to felt life.
It is this immediacy that distinguishes art. And paradoxically the more local the feeling in art, the more all people can share it; for that vivid encounter with the stuff of the world is our common ground.
Artists, knowing this mutual enrichment that extends everywhere, can act, and praise, and criticize, as insiders -- the means of art is the life of all people. And that life grows and improves by being shared. Hence, it is good to welcome any region you live in or come to, or think of, for that is where life happens to be, right where you are.”

Photo taken in Liverpool Street Railway station, London
Opened in 1874 as a replacement for Bishopsgate station, London Liverpool Street station was designed to integrate with the growing London Underground network. As Britain’s busiest station, it serves around 80 million passengers every year, providing the starting point for journeys to Cambridgeshire, Essex, Greater London, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
One of four railway stations on the British version of Monopoly, Liverpool Street is a stone’s throw away from iconic London attractions like Exchange Square, Old Spitalfields Market, Sky Garden, Brick Lane and the Tower of London. In addition, the station itself has two memorials to the Kindertransport rescue mission and is home to the Great Eastern Railway war memorial.

I've seen love come and
I've seen love walk away
So many questions
Will anybody stay?
It's been a hard year
So many nights in tears
All of the darkness
Trying to fight my fears
Alone, so long alone
I don't know who I'd be if I didn't know You
I'd probably fall off the edge
I don't know where I'd go if You ever let go
So keep me held in Your hands
You’re my safe place
My hide away
You’re my anchor
Lyrics from- Lauren Daigle - Thank God I Do
Greestone Place is very small, quiet road that the Vicars Court is on, at Lincoln Cathedral. No through traffic, it is a cul-de-sac.

The only way to take a photo of the complete market place at Besigheim is a panorama. This panorama consists of 5 photos stitched together in Lightroom. The building in the middle is the townhall and probably the most famous building of Besigheim. The fountain is interesting too as it dates back to the early 16th century. It was decorated when I took this photo as it was Easter weekend.
