No, not really what was said. Again.
Ok! Yesterday I hunkered down and worked on another faceup for the new Peregrin, and I'm definitely happier with it, than the one I tried to do a couple of weeks back and the one he came with.
However! The Cristal sculpt is pretty funny, I have to say! For example, it's kinda lopsided... You see it best when the face is bare of paint, and doesn't have its headcap on. Also, the eyes are really deep-set! I could swear that I drew the eyebrows right onto the actual eyebrow ridge, yet when completed, they look like they were placed high on the forehead. This is because the eyes are so deep-set, there's still a good distance between the eye and the eyebrow ridge. :P
I like the lip, but they too are a challenge, when trying to do a boy's faceup. I ended up trying to tone them down, and making them very light.
I fell back on my pastel and pencil methods too, because my shoulders are still not relaxed enough to prevent shaking in my left hand (drawing hand). Pencils give me that extra bit of control.
So yeah... No fancy brushwork, but the Pip at the very least looks pretty and feels like MY doll.
I think O'Carollan was glad to see him though... :)
3/366 Sunday 3 January 2016 - There are few things I want to achieve today and sewing my addition to this was one big tick. My addition is far left. I started off with one circle and then added another because I thought it needed it.
An installation at the 'Lichtkunst aus Kunstlicht' expo at the ZKM by Pips:Lab. Here you could draw with light instruments and create fancy animations to a fancy disco beat. My weapon of choice was of course the (unfortunately not working) star wars jedi sword to the right. Read the full story at the ZKM site..
