Pip OOAK artist doll, lavender skin tone as a flower girl. First try to make a better background for doll photos.
Ok! Yesterday I hunkered down and worked on another faceup for the new Peregrin, and I'm definitely happier with it, than the one I tried to do a couple of weeks back and the one he came with.
However! The Cristal sculpt is pretty funny, I have to say! For example, it's kinda lopsided... You see it best when the face is bare of paint, and doesn't have its headcap on. Also, the eyes are really deep-set! I could swear that I drew the eyebrows right onto the actual eyebrow ridge, yet when completed, they look like they were placed high on the forehead. This is because the eyes are so deep-set, there's still a good distance between the eye and the eyebrow ridge. :P
I like the lip, but they too are a challenge, when trying to do a boy's faceup. I ended up trying to tone them down, and making them very light.
I fell back on my pastel and pencil methods too, because my shoulders are still not relaxed enough to prevent shaking in my left hand (drawing hand). Pencils give me that extra bit of control.
So yeah... No fancy brushwork, but the Pip at the very least looks pretty and feels like MY doll.
I think O'Carollan was glad to see him though... :)

The Malcolm Wilson Rally (formerly the Lakeland Stages) has seven stages spread around Cumbria from the Cockermouth base. These pictures are all from the Grizedale North stage, which was stage No 6. The course is on tracks used for mountain biking and walking the rest of the year.
This little dude is Pip-Boy and he came packaged in with Xbox 360 version of Fallout 3.
That game stole 100 hours of my life and it was worth it. Now Pip-Boy keeps me company on my desk as a reminder of our good times together.

... it was 70+ degrees yesterday. I'm just as confused as you are. The weatherman said there was going to be a change in the weather, but I was expecting rain.
Side note ... I was playing with my wide-angle lens to try to imitate the distortion in those "The Dog" photos ... got a little bit of the effect but not as much as I had hoped.
Pip is not bothered at all by the fact that my clippers aren't working. I've toyed with the idea of letting him grow out a "donut" mustache and beard, but I'm a little taken aback by the brown tinge his fur is taking on around his nose. What is that about? It's kinda the same color as his tear stains ... so maybe snot stains? Eeewwww ...
