The rising suns reflection lights up the pier

Pier Ave. Pedestrian Walk

Hermosa Beach, CA

I'll bet the guy who owns this bicycle never loses sight of it no matter how many bikes are around. I love to photograph a scene "through" a parked bicycle, and if memory serves, the last time I visited the Pier in Hermosa Beach I caught some shots like this with a bike in the foreground.

This one stood out with it's bright orange color scheme!

5/52 Cromer Pier.

Taken just after sunset on a very quick (less than 30 minutes) trip to Cromer last Thursday. I don't normally travel this far but one of my images was in the WPOTY Exhibition in Norwich so I was in the area. My aim was to get to the groynes too but time was ticking on. It was quickly getting dark and I was in an unfamiliar place so decided that I was happy with what I had.

Lexington Michigan pier

A winter morning at Clevedon Pier

A Grade 1 listed building from 1869. After restoration, the pier was reopened in 1989.

This wee pier is less than a 10 minute walk from my house and became a firm favourite with me during the various lockdown periods - which is also handy when sunrise is 4.30am. I woke up at 4am - looked out of the window and was set up and shooting by 4.15am.

It surprised me how steady the tripod was in the waves. These hit me about waist high.

Mobile Bay in Fairhope, Alabama

No clouds all week during our vacation in Cayucos...but I will take a sunset without fog as we did have our fair share of it. I captured several different comps from this location and this was one of my faves. The LE helped bring out the pier reflections in the smooth waves. Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think!

Shorncliffe Pier, Brisbane, Australia. Nikon D810

I managed to negotiate some photography time whilst my partner and son were riding on the steam train (I'd already done my stint the day before, lol)

I originally thought I'd only be able to take some reference photos due to poor weather and lighting, but while chatting merrily away to a fellow photographer, the clouds began to clear and the sun broke through, casting some light onto the pier.

The perfect way to end a a day.

Dodging the showers on Boscombe Pier, Thanks for looking.

I'm making more effort to get out with my camera and trying harder for sunrises and sunsets as I need more in my portfolio.

Last night I went down to Eastbourne Pier with my daughter to catch the sunset, it wasn't amazing but once again pleased with some of the pictures I took.

South Parade Pier and Promenade.

Galveston's "Pleasure Pier". Although closed on this winter Friday night, the ferris wheel still has a light show.

Taken yesterday evening at Mumbles - the old pier is in the process of being upgraded and the old lifeboat house has now been replaced by a very modern and beauitful station at the end of the pier.
