Guilford Co., NC: This piedmont stream is located on the Piedmont Environmental Center's 376 arce property in southern Guilford County. Along this stream I have encountered Acris crepitans, Rana clamitans, R. catesbeiana, R. palustris, Nerodia sipedon, Desmognathus fuscus, and Ambystoma maculatum egg masses in small ephemeral ditches that run along this stream.

Piedmont Grocery, located at 4038 Piedmont Ave in Oakland, has been serving the Piedmont district since 1903. In 1967, the supermarket was reconstructed. Since then, only minor changes have taken place, and this supermarket is something of a time capsule.

Gently rolling hills, known as "the foot hills of the Blue Ridge", are characteristic of the Virginia Piedmont region.
