This photo was taken four years ago in Kumkum 3 beach near Nuweiba, Sinai. There is something magical in this place that makes you feel alive. Here and now.

my photography is an extension of me—of the ways i see and feel. these pieces of me can emerge in an image. especially on rainy days, when i cover myself with an umbrella and squat low to capture a puddle. this particular image reminds me to reflect and to float; to pay attention in honest yet gentle ways; to allow for the rain and for the sun.

Many state that the Grand Canyon is overwhelming and hard to photograph. When there standing along the rim that certainly can be understood.
Best to enjoy that Grand view and then take a deep breath ... then start framing it up in pieces.
Many state that the south rim views are best ... I was there for the one sunrise, and the open wide views are impressive. But to be honest, the views from the north I really enjoyed. the canyon elements are 'closer' to you from this viewpoint, and the colors there are impressive. In addition, you are higher by around 1,000 feet than the south rim, so you get some nice elements above that rim at times into the view.
I framed this moody sky view up with the one outcrop taking us into the frame from the right side, keeping us in the frame with the white outcrop, and then taking us back into the vista view through the far off deeper canyon sections. In this your mind can start to take in what you are really seeing ... at least mine can by taking it in 'pieces'.
