Pumpkin Halloween 2021 - Inspired in the @alex_mocs Halloween design of the last year. I have completed the pumpkin and made it a bit more round (the top cover is an inverted dish). The inside is a complex mix of open round studs, skeleton arms and studs with bars.
Walking through cemeteries is a multi-dimensional experience. At times I'm caught up in the energy of the place. Other times I react to how my presence here influences my emotions. And often I have this odd reaction to the geometry of shapes and angles. It's like walking through a life size chess board. Grim looking pawns, rooks, knights and queens in all directions, forever locked in their last move. The stones and monuments cause ever-changing sight lines and negative spaces as I move about. I often crouch down, preferring to shoot through the stones rather than over them. The sense of texture pleases me; I'm not sure why. I also love the sense of crowding and depth created by overlapping stones. Viewing the monuments down at ground level really reinforces the realization of just how much stone has been brought in here. There's also the corridor effect of shooting something in the distance by finding the perfect visual pathway to get there. Inches matter in this process. Even slight variations in movement cause shifts in these alignments. When it works, it looks easy. Like snapping the final piece into a jigsaw puzzle. More often though, it resembles the puzzle when you first lift the box lid and see 1,000 disconnected pieces.
The game par excellence of the Italian family is bingo. Components of the game are, a bag in which the numbers from 1 to 90 are placed, a billboard showing the numbers released, participants can buy cards at a predetermined price, who takes the bill pays for 10 pages. Once the money is collected, the prize money is formed by dividing it into 5 parts. Ambo Terno Quaderna Cinquina Tombola.
I wanted to interpret the magic moment that is the bag that contains the numbers
I had her in a drawer, I don’t know where the rest of her body is. But now she can be posted for the theme of missing/broken pieces. 😀
With a combined 120 years of service how can these two can be long for the world is beyond me. But I like it, don't change a thing. The 4100 being a 1958 vintage, and the 7027 being 1956, they both keep doing honors in the Dairyland state for a number of years now, and just getting reunited a few weeks ago in Fond du Lac again and swapping duties on L508/L515 rotation. Don't be the one regretting you didn't go shoot this pair.
These are bits and pieces of three clematis blossoms that my son donated to my project. He has been so generous by letting me collect flowers from his yard. This entry is 58/100. I am glad I still have a little less than half of my project left. There is still much to explore and discover, I love the whole process.
Hnefatafl is an old Viking game where the dark pieces have to capture the White King. This set is from a game made by History Craft Ltd in UK. Made in imitation of the Isle of Lewis chess set. The King piece is less than 2 inches tall. Shot with natural sunlight from the side, handheld, cropped slightly in Digikam.
