This is the lake I walked to today, such a peaceful place!
That is... apart from the (occasional, yet) terribly annoying barking from the dogs of a nearby house!
It annoyed me enough to write a poem :p
Dog
You stupid panting bugger,
your belly wobbling like blubber.
Why do you choose that horrid sound?
Urgeing me to kill you in one bound.
I wish your master all the best,
when I lay you to rest,
for as I kick your poor arse
I can't help thinking you are the last.

About 5 Sec Faces
This is a street photography project between Fleecircus and Danny St to capture the different personalities that make up face of Singapore. We roam around the streets of Singapore with an illustration board for a makeshift background, look for strangers with distinct faces, then ask "Can I take your picture? It'll just take 5 seconds..." If they agree, we quickly click away :)

Loudoun Kirk, dedicated to St Michael, was established at the end of the twelfth century. The lands on which it was built, and which became Loudoun parish, had been given by Richard de Morville, King William the Lion's High Steward, to James, son of Lambinus, before 1189. James, the member of a Flemish family who had settled earlier in Lanarkshire, built the first motte and bailey castle overlooking the Hag Burn as the centre of his authority. At or soon after its foundation, the revenues of Loudoun Kirk, were allocated to support the monks of the newly-founded Kilwinning Abbey, and in return they were obliged to provide a priest (curate) to attend to the spiritual needs of the parishioners. In January 1491, James IV created for George Campbell of Loudoun the free burgh or barony of Newmilns. The castle was built there-and gradually, as more and more people moved to the new burgh, it became the main centre of population in the parish. During the bitter Campbell/Kennedy feuds of 1527/8, Loudoun Kirk was badly damaged, but rebuilt. Soon afterwards, however, in 1530, in recognition of the shift in population, a chapel was built at Newmilns. Loudoun Kirk remained the parish church until at least the 17th century, when the chapel in Newmilns was upgraded to parochial status. Thereafter Loudoun Kirk and its kirkyard continued in use for occasional church services, but more particularly as the last resting-place of generations of the parishioners of Loudoun.

The Live, We Rise is a special edition absolutely different in form to all our previous publications. To the surprise of many, our next Belio is a newspaper compromised with the social, economic and political situation today.
This is a physical and digital edition inspired by John Carpenter's movie They Live. A short of homage to the film in order to expose a conformist and lobotomized society. The design and content of the newspaper is based in one of the famous scene from the movie where the protagonist discovers the hidden messages in advertising and the media with the help of some special glasses. To read our newspaper, you won't need those glasses... But we have included in the pack a special 3D anaglyph glasses that you will need to read the online edition We Rise which can be downloaded at www.beliomagazine.com. Everything is packed within a transparent PVC bag screenprinted and limited to 1000 units, that you can order directly to us by sending an e.mail to store@beliomagazine.com
Leider rauscht meine Samsung recht stark :-(

'#2802 American Bison' On Black
Bison have a shaggy, dark brown winter coat, and a lighter weight, lighter brown summer coat. Bison can reach up to 2 metres (6½ ft) tall, 3 metres (10 ft) long and weigh 450 to 900 kilograms (900 to 2,000 lb). The biggest specimens on record have weighed as much as 1140 kg (2,500 lb). The heads and forequarters are massive, and both sexes have short, curved horns, which they use in fighting for status within the herd and for defence. Bison mate in August and September; a single reddish-brown calf is born the following spring, and it nurses for a year. Bison are mature at three years of age, and have a life expectancy of 18 to 22 years in the wild and 35 to 40 years in captivity. Bison can jump up to 6 feet high and run up to 40 mph, a fact that comes as a surprise to those familiar with docile domesticated cattle.
One very rare condition results in the white buffalo, where the calf turns entirely white. It is not to be confused with albino, since white bison still possess pigment in the skin, hair, and eyes. White bison are considered sacred by many Native Americans.
Due to its size and the protection afforded by living in a herd, the bison have few enemies besides humans. Grizzly bears and wolves may attempt to attack young calves or subadults, but only in the dead of winter when the herd cannot expend the energy to protect stragglers. A wolf pack can also take down an adult bison, wolves frequently test even the largest bison for weaknesses, usually several wolves may pursue a bison and attempt to bring it down after the bison has succumbed to exhaustion or wounds from the wolves' deadly jaws. The only other threat, other than hunting by humans, that leads to the depletion of wild bison is interbreeding with domestic bovines. In fact, only a small number of bison herds found in North America today are pure breed bison.

I started on college, only nice things I can tell for now. Then, things will become really dificult, but now is when I have to go on hard.
Living alone, enjoying full independence.
And now, finally, with quite little time to think, but well used and well analyzed, things are going through.
Important things, surely, but I don't know if it's helpful to re-think it all.
As I said... only nice things I can tell for now
I dig my toes into the sand.
The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket.
I lean against the wind, pretend that I am weightless...
And in this moment I am happy...happy~
Today is my last day being 21.
I spent today sleeping, lounging & being a bum.
Oh boy, tomorrow I can say I'm 22. Funny how badly I wanted to be 21, but now, about to turn 22, I feel indifferent about it. I'm not a big drinker, so turning 21 wasn't THAT monumental for me -- but a lot of my friends are older than me, so I could officially hang out with them without being looked at as the young one. Anyways, what's so great about 22? You're just barely in your 20s, but you're not a newbie. *shrugs* Of course I'm happy to have made it through another year of life, but I wouldn't mind being 21 still.
In other news, I think I'm the only one in the world that doesn't like that "Fireflies" song by Owl City. It just does nothing for me, and makes me go WTF @ the lyrics.
Following the Wings vs Bruins game, I must read for ethics. Euthanasia.

Metro Water District Information
Metro-Main Service Area - 16,650 customers or connections.
Metro-Main is Metro Water District's original service area. It covers a 23 square mile area in the northwest metropolitan Tucson area between Lambert Lane to the north and River Road to the south, with Thornydale Road on the west and First Avenue and Oracle Road to the east.
The District has taken great strides to connect the various small service areas that comprised the District's original system to make one comprehensive, effective water system. Today, Metro Main has 27 active wells with 11 million gallons of storage capacity divided among various storage facilities. The Herb Johnson Reservoir (5 million gallons), the James M. Tripp Reservoir (5 million gallons) and the Magee/La Cholla Reservoir (1 million gallons) are the main storage facilities.
Metro-Hub Service Area - 1,625 customers or connections
This service area in the northeast Tucson area was acquired in 1999 from the Hub Water Company. There are 5 wells with a new 250,000 gallon storage facility located next to the existing 186,000 gallon tank.
Metro-Southwest Service Area - 1,550 customers or connections
This service area is the southwest Tucson area was acquired in 2009 from Thim Water Utilities. One of the service areas, formerly served by the Diablo Water Company, is located on Ajo Highway near Ryan Airfield. The second service area, formerly served by the E&T Water Company, is located near Nogales Highway and Nogales Old Vail Connection Road. The third service area known as Lazy B is located off of San Joaquin Road north of Bopp Road. The Diablo Village service area is a new development area with growth potential and the E&T and Lazy B Service Areas are an older area with existing customers.

Investigators from Scotland Yard arrived in Islamabad on Jan. 4 to help the Pakinasti authorities on the investigation of the death of Benazir Bhutto. Rumours have surrounded the exact causes of her death, as a man shot her while she was standing in her car, waving through the sunroof, then a suicide bomber exploded himself. The oficial version concluded she banged her head against the sunroof due to the shock of the explosion, but other witnesses (including the person who washed her body) said she had been shot. Her party, the PPP, has called for a UN investigation but so far, president Musharraf has rejected this request and asked instead for the help of the UK.
On Jan.5, the Scotland Yard team together with the Pakistani officials went to Liaqat Bagh, the park in Rawalpindi in front of which the bombing occured, to be briefed on the events. The scene itself, however, has nothing to reveal in terms of material evidence as it's a busy street opened to traffic.
Here, a Pakistani official shows the English investigator the impatcts of the explosion on a nearby wall.

The galaxy Messier 100, or M100, shows its swirling spiral in this infrared image from NASAs Spitzer Space Telescope. The arcing spiral arms of dust and gas that harbor starforming regions glow vividly when seen in the infrared.
is a classic example of a grand design spiral galaxy, with prominent and well-defined spiral arms winding from the hot center, out to the cooler edges of the galaxy. It is located about 55 million light years away from Earth, in the little-known constellation of Coma Berenices, near to the more recognizable Leo.
In the center, we can see a prominent ring of hot, bright dust surrounding the inner galactic core. Moving further out, the spiral arms peter out towards the edges of the galaxy, where thick webs of dust dominate. Beyond the edges of the dust clouds, a faint blue glow of stars extends to the edge of the galaxys disk.
Two small companion galaxies, known as NGC 4323 and NGC 4328, appear as fuzzy blue blobs on the upper side of M100. These so-called lenticular galaxies are virtually clear of any dust, so they lack any of the red/green glow seen in their bigger neighbor. The shape of M100 is probably being perturbed by the gravity of these galaxies.
M100 was discovered in 1781, and is now known to stretch roughly 160,000 light years from one side to the other, making it about one and a half times the size of our own Milky Way galaxy. By studying these infrared images of M100, astronomers can map out the structure of the stars and dust, and study the ways in which galaxies like our Milky Way were formed.
M100 is well-known to astronomers because of the five stars that have become supernovae within the galaxy between 1901 and 2006. These exploding stars are extremely useful for helping astronomers to calibrate distance scales in the universe, and to estimate the age of the universe since its creation in the Big Bang.
The red regions reveal dust clouds that light up under the illumination of the surrounding stars. The stars themselves shine most brightly at the shorter infrared wavelengths, showing up here in blue. The blue dots covering the entire image are stars that lie between us and M100.
Infrared light with wavelengths of 3.6 and 4.5 microns are displayed in blue and green showing primarily the glow from starlight. 8 micron light is rendered in red; the small contribution from starlight at 8 microns was subtracted out from the data to better show the dust structures near the galaxys center.

It dominates the Auckland skyline and at 328 metres, the Sky Tower is the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. 192 metres up is the 'Sky Jump', a kind of freefall but with wires that allows you to plummet to the ground at two thirds of terminal velocity, or approximately 75 kph. I was offered a free jump by the advertising agency Saatchi and Saatchi as part of a campaign they were running on selling NZ to the rest of the World-like the LOTR trilogy didn't do that all on its own! Anyway, I got all suited and harnessed up, had my interview (before and afters were needed) and walked to the edge of the platform. Then I looked down. It was so high, I could barely make out cars and people and it was incredibly windy. I remember thinking 'I'm not a bird; if God had wanted me to fly, he would have given me wings' So, after ten minutes or so of hard persuasion from the Jump Master on the platform, I chickened out and made it to the ground safely in the lift! Sorry Saatchi and Saatchi! However, as you can see, my friend Mark did make the jump. On the 21st of January, 1905, the worst nightmate of any mill owner came true, as fire ripped through Old Lane Mill, Halifax. It was the first mill fire of the year, but before the end, another three mills in a ten mile radius were badly damaged by fire.
The first mill on the site was recorded in 1816, but this one was built in 1825. Two years later, in 1827, owner Akroyd built the first Jacquard looms in Britain, and the mill was iron-framed and fitted with stone floors – the first in any British mill – to support the machinery.
Today those floors are still there, stripped of machinery, but remants of old looms and chutes are still there.
Apparently the nightwatchman used to fire a blunderbuss each night to signal he was on duty. Thankfully, he is no longer there...
One of the most impressive places I've visited in England or anywhere is "Hampton Court" one of the royal properties though it has not been inhabited by a British Monarch since 1814. The palace was Henry VIII's favorite residence. It was originally intended to be the residence of Cardinal Wolsey, the Archbishop of York. When Henry broke with the Catholic Church and Wolsey was removed, it became property of the monarchy. It remained a royal residence throughout the reigns of the Tudor and Stuart monarchs. After the Restoration James II and Charles II, William III and Georges I and II also lived here The Castle itself is an architectural wonder and its interior is filled with historical paintings and furnishings befitting a monarch. The gardens are even more impressive.
In 1540 this clock was installed over gatehouse to the second, inner court was adorned in 1540 with an early example of a post-Copernican astronomical clock. Still functioning, the clock shows the time of day, the phases of the moon, the month, the quarter of the year, the date, the sun and star sign, and high water at London Bridge. The gate below it is popularly known as Anne Boleyn's gate, named after Henry's second wife who was later executed in the Tower of London.
