A close up of a Whooper Swan that I took on the outskirts of Reykjavik. I was taken to see them by my contact Helgi, they were very used to his visits so I got to view them at very close quarters
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT HAVE A GREAT DAY

As the summer is coming to an end in the beautiful Guincho and in Portugal somehow September has began with lots of sun and good weather ... here you can
appreciate the most beautiful " Fortaleza do Chincho" (an ancient fortress as many on the Portugal coast, - this totally restaured)... one of my favourite places and a fantastic gourmet restaurant (see Michelin guide 3 stars) with a great view !!! (and with lots of happy memories from my parents to my friends of then and now - a favourite place) ... Here the winds are very strong so you can also appreiciate the magical view, the surfing going on as well as the lovely view of the the sea the the neaerby hills of Sintra --- indeed a magical place to relax and enjoy the best that summer (and not only) has to offer ... a magnificent view of the coast of Portugal in this case a few minutes from home (Lisbon)... I hope you will share with me this view and virtual "joy" ... (beware strong waves and cold water) ---
Also this is for dear friends who have come here and enjoyed this special place ....(as well as those who might come or just those who like the "scene") what is better at the " almost end of summertime " than to eat great seafood and hear the waves of our great ocean as well as a great view?! .. So my dear friends ENJOY windy Guincho, lay back and listen to this most relaxing music... be Happy and Zen.... (and have a great September...)
listen to the waves and relax :

Nocturnus is in great danger and Lorivor came to Gunman's mind.
Lorivor is the King of Marrach Briollag, City of Avalonia.
Gunman decided to travel to Marrach Briollag with his faithful soldiers and friends, Hlias and Markus .
==============================================================
"In the meanwhile"
Sharion, son of King Lorivor, took a guard from the palace with him and left on a long journey to a place northwest of Siccus Badlands in Nocturnus.
A druid named Bergish is rumored to have lived there 600 years ago .
The myth says that of all the places Bergish met during his travels to all lands of Historica, he loved Avalonian landscapes the most.
Because he was old, Bergish stopped the journeys, and passed his last days peacefully at his home. Where he started experiments trying to create a magic potion which would spread to the place near his house in order to transform the barren Nocturnian landscape
into the lush beautiful landscape he had visited in Avalonia.
It was his wish to successfully create the potion before he last closed his eyes, and myths say his wish came true...
Myths also say that strange animals live there and Sharion wants to take their heads back to Avalonia.
"Little did he know that after the death of Bergish the cottage was occupied by the Wolfclan. Evil creatures , half man, half wolf who are hostile against anyone
passing the bridge leading from Nocturnus to their homelands.."
Rumors around nocturnus say that any Nocturnus hunters who dared to go hunt near there never came back.
So no Nocturnian has ever went to that land and returned.
================================================================
A big surprise was waiting for him at the palace..
Lorivor heard about his coming to town and was expecting him in a not so friendly way..
He wanted Gunman to help him find his son and in exchange he would give him money.
Gunman refused the money, and told Lorivor that he wanted Lorivor's soldiers to fight with Nocturnus against the Black Spire.
After a lot of thoughts Lorivor agreed to the deal.
Sir Gunman the lurikeen accepted the challenge to go find Sharion because Nocturnus lands were in true danger from the Black Spire hordes
and Lord Syslith needs the recruits from the town of Marrach Briollag.

I saw these two slowly walking arm-in-arm on the opposite side of the road to me, so I patiently waited for them to walk into my mind’s eye frame in a shop window. But, at the last moment, they paused and crossed the road, walking right towards me; their eyes fixed on the display in a window immediately over my left shoulder.
My initial reaction when they stopped before my originally imagined scene was ‘Grrr…’ But, clearly, some pictures are just meant to be.
[Note: If you look carefully, you’ll see the woman closest to me has just become aware of my presence, and moments later she yanked her handbag up to cover and face and the whole scene quickly degenerated into laughter. : )]

So I have not uploaded in a while, I have been really busy with school and everything and making sure that everything is set for my financial aid/graduation. But this is all over now and I am really stoked to jump back into everything. I will have a couple of shoots lined up for the VERY near future.
Recently I got my brand new Macbook Pro, yesterday.. ha. And I absolutely love it, it was the best decision that I have made yet. I need to thank my mom for putting money down on it for me since it is so expensive for a graduation present! :D But I graduate tomorrow, so I'm going to running around and getting everything done for that and after this weekend, the shoots will be flowing in!
Currently I am working on the photo's for the new upcoming Live to Love Summer line that will be released
THIS Friday, June 11th. I am stoked for everyone to see the shots, and the new products! They all look amazing and everyone is going to be really surprised with the new stuff that Taylor has come out with!
This is just a re-edit of on older photo that I took in like november of 2009. Since I don't have any new shoots to edit right now I decided to do some re edits, but this is gonna be a busy weekend, expect new work next week! :D
Let me know what you think everyone!

What:
A long exposure (47 seconds) of the light house at Peggy's Cove.
When:
Almost an hour after sunset Sunday night.
Where:
Peggy's Cove
Nova Scotia, Canada
About:
I am trying to get back out shooting a little more often and of course I had to head to Peggy's Cove seeing how I had a special request from my friend Sonja :-)
Anyway, the weather wasn't all that great and there was a bit of fog rolling in around town. I was expecting to get near Peggy's and just end up turning around and heading home. Well was I ever surprised when I saw one of the best sunsets ever there!! I have a few actual sunset shots I will post later, this was taken almost an hour after the sun had gone down! As you can see there was still a lot of color left in the sky. It was still nice and warm with hardly any wind at all which is very unusual for this place!
We have had a lot of rain this year so I knew there would be some water in the granite surrounding the lighthouse.
Please, no multiple invites or crazy glittery graphics. Thank You

Photo taken at the Shelly Beach - Manly and I still remember that morning, it was adventure as Mick G9 promised. I was never fan of HDR photography but sometimes we need to experiment and Michael Lynch was kind enough to be still for couple minutes till I take 10 different exposures and this is the product. Dark side of HDR is high noise, once when I started to correct noise I lost clarity...bugger...I hope you like..

Mon Oncle ("My Uncle") is a 1958 comedic film by French filmmaker Jacques Tati. It was Tati's first film to be released in colour (after the colour-debacle of Jour de fête) and that same year won him the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, a Special Prize at Cannes, and the prestigious New York Film Critics Award, receiving more honors than any of Tati's other films.
The film centers on the dimwitted yet lovable character of Monsieur Hulot and his quixotic struggle with postwar France's infatuation with modern architecture, mechanical efficiency and American-style consumerism. As with most Tati films, Mon Oncle is largely a visual comedy; color and lighting are employed to help tell the story. The dialogue in Mon Oncle is barely audible, and largely subordinated to the role of a sound effect. Consequently, most of the conversations are not subtitled. Instead, the drifting noises of heated arguments and idle banter complement other sounds and the physical movements of the characters, intensifying comedic effect. The complex soundtrack also uses music to characterize environments, including a lively musical theme that represents Hulot's world of comical inefficiency and freedom.

This one is for ARNEL aka LENAREH, Pinoy Kodakero's poet laureate. Perhaps what I appreciate more about Arnel is his ability to see the lighter side of life. I truly enjoy the simplicity of his view on life as expressed in many of his images. I have enjoyed his “can you guess” posts, his blue sky set, his food and sari-sari shots. His stream is full of treasures which can certainly make you smile. And Arnel is generous. He almost always never leave my stream without a few simple verses of encouragement, sometimes of humor. I feel honored to be his friend and godmother to his young son, Nico. And I am looking forward to meeting him and his family in person and spend some time exploring and shooting some of the beautiful places in the Philippines in October.

Hello flickr, how have you been?
Thank you all for the well-wishes and emails during my absence. I'm fine, I've just been lazy. I needed to check out for a while, and I did just that. It's likely I won't be around as much in the near future: its winter and I seem to lose a lot of motivation. I have a hard time finding the beauty in things when I can't feel my toes and its dark @ 4:30pm. I'm still trying to shoot and I've got lots of archive stuff (see above) so I don't think I'll be going dormant. A photo a day seems like a bit of a stretch though.
Photographically speaking, 2009 was a pretty amazing year for me. Much of my success is due to the amazing network of contacts and friends I've developed here. Your commentary and criticism is fantastic, your work is inspiring. All of you drive me is some way to become a better storyteller through photos. You all rock, I really can't thank you enough.
So, Happy (much belated) New Year. I wish you the very best in 2010, I cant wait to see what you have to show in the coming year!

The wispy seed heads of the Pasque Flower are attractive in their own right.
[...], another common name for Pasque flower (or "Pasqueflower") is "Easter flower." Pasque is the Old French spelling for "Easter," and it is around that time of year that the plant blooms, in some regions. According to Botanical.com, the famous herbalist, John Gerard, "informs us that he himself was 'moved to name' this the Pasque Flower, or Easter Flower, because of the time of its appearance, it being in bloom from April to June."

Lower Broadway, Aug 2008 - 04
This was taken from the north side of Broadway at Howard Street, looking south; I thought the young woman made an interesting silhouette as she sat by herself.
I had to look, back and forth, several times at this picture and the previous one, to convince myself that it really is the same young woman. The couple previously sitting to her left has disappeared, and the lower background immediately behind her doesn't really look quite the same. But the other details -- shirt, haircut, purse, etc. -- are the same. And besides, I was there.
In any case, I think this is the more interesting of the two pictures.
Notwithstanding my own opinions on the topic, this photo was published in an April 8, 2009 blog titled "Woody Allen vs. American Apparel.." It was also published in a March 3, 2011 blog titled "Check out the upcoming Gender, Sexuality, and Urban Spaces Conference Mar. 11-13!"
Moving into 2012, the photo was published in an Oct 24, 2012 blog titled "American Apparel opens biggest international store in Beijing." It was also published in an undated (late Oct 2012) blog titled "17 Interesting Pictures of Billboards."
Moving into 2014, the photo was published in a May 18, 2014 blog titled "Women in Three Dimensions."
Moving into 2015, the photo was published in a Feb 23, 2015 blog titled "THE PROBLEM WITH SEXUAL INEQUALITY AT EVERY LEVEL."
**********************************
On a bright, sunny Wednesday afternoon, I ventured down to 23rd Street and 6th Avenue to drop off my laptop computer for a repair job. Afterwards, I thought I would walk over to Broadway and stroll up the street to see if I could find some interesting pictures; and then I got the crazy idea to take a cab down to the very end of Broadway -- near the Staten Island Ferry -- and walk all the way up Broadway to my neighborhood on 96th Street.
But then I decided that Broadway probably wouldn't be very interesting until I reached Canal Street ... so I had the cab-driver drop me off there, and began my walk northward. Who knows how far I would have gotten if I hadn't been distracted by a lively farmer's market in Union Square -- on 14th Street? Anyway, there's much more of Broadway to cover, and if I have the time and energy over the next few months, perhaps I will cover the entire length of this longest street in New York City, which extends all the way through Manhattan, Bronx, and into Yonkers...

It's sometimes surprising what's hiding behind a dreary winter sky. This was taken at the Black Butte Dam overlook. Visibility was limited due to the weather but I was intriqued by the position of the rock facings and the trees and decided it was worth a shot. Backlighting and layering helped bring out the colors in the sky and then I used a texture called pink spotlight from pareeerica www.flickr.com/photos/8078381@N03/ .

I've chosen to feature this castle in sepia to emphasize its history, its place in a bygone age and above all, its sense of mystery and yes, even romance.
"The castles which are today such an unmistakable feature of the Rhein landscape date back to the Middle Ages. Their founders were feudal overloards, who, so far from cherishing any romantic notions, built them with one simple aim in mind: to protect their lands from marauders and predatory neighbours. They chose mountain-tops as strategically ideal situations, and we today, looking back through the haze of ninteenth-century medievalism, are still often prone to see them as objects of mystery and splendour, forgetting the warlike function for which they were built and the back-breaking labour of the feudal serfs, whom we must presume to have been forcibly employed in quarring the huge stone blocks and dragging them up the mountain slopes.
Since Roman times the Rhein valley has been a line of communication of vital strategic importance. In the Middle Ages the German emperors used it for their frequent progresses into Italy, and rich merchants sent their goods to and fro along it. Obviously anyone owning a castle overlooking the valley was in a powerful position, since he was able to survey and regulate the flow of traffic across his particular territory and levy tolls on merchants. This accounts for the large number of castles along the Rhein from Mainz to Bonn, particularly in the narrow gorge connecting Bingen and Koblenz. Along this stretch of river, which has a length of only thirty-five miles, there are more castles than in any other river valley in the world. "

I must say I love this girl right here more than anyone could ever know. She has the sweetest heart of any person I have ever met. She is not only gorgeous, but loving and giving. I miss her dearly as she lives 800 miles from me. I wanted to take a pic of her on my quick trip home. I sort of forgot about it until the light was gone, but we headed out to a park and I snapped off a few. I love you Mae Mae!!
Funny how everyone says we look so much alike, when neither of us really see it. We are so very very different in everything.

somehow this one is extra special to me ... don't know what it is ... maybe it still contains the feeling I had when I came around the corner and discovered the magical play of light. Shrouded in that haze is a pond. It was frozen solid that morning. It was the second pond I went past that morning ... and it was the first indication of the fun and games to be had in the woods that day :-) This currently serves as my desktop and with that I only reluctantly switch my laptop off ;-) if I could put this on my desktop at work, I'd never do any work I think - I'd be too busy dreaming of wandering through the forest *chuckles*
...
let's see, with a bit of luck we have a pretty sunrise tomorrow & then that'll save you lovely folk from more woodland mystery ;-) ... and on Friday I'm headed off to Wales ... let's hope for some spectacular weather then :-) Can't wait to get those valleys through my lens!!
Whittington Castle..BEST VIEW ON View On Black
Whittington Castle is very impressive and picturesque, situated in the heart of Whittington village.
Although little remains today of Whittington Castle to suggest the glory of its magnificent hay-day, the gatehouse towers are still standing, reflected in the clear water of the moat, home to a small community of swans and ducks.
Whittington Castle looks especially good when floodlit, with the light reflected in the water of the moat.
The famous Bishop Howe, a son of Shrewsbury and author of the hymn 'For All The Saints', was a rector of the Georgian church in Whittington for 28 years.
The village of Whittington, near Oswestry is the setting for the remains of a feudal fortress.
Whittington Castle is first mentioned in 1138, when it was fortified by the Norman Chief, William Peverell against King Stephen.
William Peverell, the reputed son of William the Conqueror, who had fought at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 was given property and lordships in Derbyshire and he was also awarded Whittington castle.
William Peverell demolished the original wooden castle and replaced it with one built from stone.
The Castles position on the border with wales gave it a valuable role in history and the Peverells held it until the twelfth century.
On the death of William Peverell, the castle passed to his son Pain Peverell, who in turn left it to his son William. This is where the male right to succession seemed to end, as William had no son, only two daughters.
In the early twelfth century, ownership of Whittington Castle passed from the Peverells to Warine de Metz who became founder of the line of Fulk-Warines. Warine de Metz was succeeded by Fulk Fitz Warine, his son, who was knighted by Henry the First.
The next Fulk became a famous warrior, fighting and slain in the battle of Lewis, Sussex. He left a son and heir, and a daughter called Eve. In 1221 Fulk was given a licence to fortify the Castle, to repel Welsh invaders.
The main feature of the new defenses at Whittington was a rectangular inner bailey, en-circled by a stone wall
with semi-circular towers at it four corners.
A succession of Fulks followed, one of which was also a warlike warrior, who attended the Black Prince into Gascoigne and the Earl of Warwick into Flanders, amongst other places.
This Fulk expressed a wish that upon his death he be buried in the chancel of the church at Whittington. It is rumored that his remains, found in an Oak coffin three inches thick, were found in the porch of the present St. John the Baptist church in the eighteenth century.
Fulk Fitz Warine III and his family held the castle at Whittington until 1420, upon the extinction of the male line.

How and why: The untouched scene, the symmetry...
Editing: Removed some deer prints.
Two vertically shifted images shot with the 24mm TS-E lens, stitched.
Each image shot with the new Formatt Hitech Filters Firecrest 16 stops IRND filters, no stacking.
Exposure time: 241 seconds for each image @f/8.0
The next photos in my Visual Acoustics architecture series will all be shot with the new Formatt-Hitech Firecrest 16 stops IRND filters. Why? I already wrote a review on that a few weeks ago on my blog, and I can tell you again that there’s no colour cast at all, not even when shooting in poor light conditions and that the accuracy is very high and that there’s no vignetting with the circular filters, simply because they’re so thin and you don’t need to stack, but I’m not going to say that again. Just look at all the other reviews by independent photographers or read my review here or convince yourself. And if you're interested in how to create images like this, then all this is explained on my website and also in my book that you can find on my website.

Elliot last July .. We had just moved here in May..I think he felt pretty much at home! ; ) I had this new stand custom made for him at this place here called Purrniture (so he could fit on the top)... He is really a big boy.. ; ) The top of his kitty stand is almost as big as my table on the deck! ; )
Here's a link to the store...This cat furniture is made so much better than the stuff at the pet stores.... It's in St. Paul Minnesota.. Just click on store to see all the stuff this guy custom makes...
Just managed to take this shot in the foyer of an upscale shopping centre (Astoria) in Istanbul before guards told me that the taking of photos in the mall was forbidden. Anyway, I bought myself a stunning "little black dress" (on sale) there and wore it that same night when we went to a dinner and entertainment show at a posh hotel :-)
Have a wonderful Thursday and thanks as always for your visits and kind comments.
When I was shooting this, my friend said he could see what I'll make of it.... I hope this doesn't fall short of what he expected me to do...
and BTW, for those of you who have been unfortunate enough to see the previous upload, this is the storm that I was talking about.. hehe... :P :D
This is going straight to my portfolio coz this defines me as a photographer and the kind of work I like.
Hope you all like this....
And yes, I'm so touched by all your comments/faves/views on my stream, I read them over and over again inspite of the training that has me running most of the time....
I dedicate this to Ambuj Bhaiya, the one who believed in me so much that he bought and sent me the SLR that I wanted from Japan (My KissX2) inspite of me repeatedly saying "No, That'll be too much." and to Papa, who said, "Go, touch your dream. I'll take care."
I could have done this at the time when I posted my first shot from the SLR. But I was waiting for The photograph that could do what it was supposed to.
Love
