You know the african proverb:
It takes a whole village to raise a child?
I have been asked many times what I've done (as a parent) to get my daughter, Llael to 'here'. I've got to say that I definitely have not done it alone!
The mentor system is wonderful for absolutely every person - and has been essential for guiding a highly psychic child like Llael. My personal feeling is that the consciousness on this planet is rising so dramatically from the past that we have a whole generation or two of parents who are in the position of raising children who are more spiritually aware than ourselves. I can't imagine that this is the norm in most worlds.
In any case, to meet that challenge I have been reminded of the african proverb and have taken it to heart. Llael's godmother has been wonderful support and deeply knowledgeable help in many times; another friend who experienced many of these extended abilities as a child herself has been a 'ready reference guide'; and former professors, have been supportive too.
I have learned to ask, not hide. To be an advocate; To follow where Spirit leads and puts people in my footpath.
..... and to READ! Many parents write and tell me that they don’t know anyone else in their community who they can share these things with. It seems really synchronistic that the internet came into its own about the same time as the profoundly aware kids! smile. Today’s mentors might come in virtual form - often as authors of all the wonderful books available.

We chose homeschooling for middle school and most of high school - which many parents now choose for a variety of reasons - - and it seems to suit the psychic child’s specialized education needs perfectly.
The Home education movement is a movement that is really giving us back our own knowledge - a sort of “permission” to know what we know, be our own expert - or to go become our own expert.
BUT, it’s not the only way, and not the best way for all children. Be prepared to educate your own school leaders about the need for a more spiritually-based education, one that is sensitive to sensitivities. Ask that the FULL RANGE of sensory perceptions be taught wherever possible.

It's been wet for ages. Not really raining for any length of time, but just a bit wet. The kind of damp where there are always dark patches on the pavements, and in the evenings the roads look a wee bit shiny, like the kind of dull gleam you get when you've just polished a cast-iron frying pan with cooking oil.
Same again today. The rain stopped me from doing two things. Cutting the grass had to get put to the back burner again (yes I know it's a bit late in the year for that kind of thing but it's still growing, and the car is showing a sub-tropical 16°C from time to time), and just as it came to decision-time as to whether or not to go to the shinty/hurling international the heavens opened. And I couldn't really be bothered getting wet. As is Inverness's wont, the rain didn't last for any length of time, but by then it was too late to go. So I grabbed the camera and headed into town.
Gregor was standing opposite the Market Brae Steps handing out Christian leaflets. I walked past him a couple of times, thinking it wasn't fair to bother him since he was busy, but because light was fading fast I decided to give it a go.
A very nice man and very open and chatty, he used to live in Inverness, but now lives in Invergordon. He still, however, comes into Inverness each week to worship. he told me that I had missed a great photo opportunity earlier when he gave one of his leaflets to a lady who turned out to be a nun...

This bird was a challenge. Right at the back of my house is a little paradise for birds of all kinds. House sparrows, chaffinches, blue tits, great tits, robins, blackbirds, blackcaps, whitethroats, goldfinches, yellowhammers and chiffchaffs all nest in a little thicket of trees. On this day, I could pick out the willow warbler, chiffchaff and Yellowhammer all singing away but what else was that I could hear? Something unfamiliar, certainly.
Now, I'm no expert on bird calls. I know my Great tit from my Chiffchaff but there are a good few song birds I haven't yet taken the time to learn. This was one such bird but I wasn't sure if it was something as common as a blue tit (they seem to have quite a repertoire of different wee noises) or was it something far more elusive like a blackcap, which I saw on two separate occasions last year and I had to really stalk to get the shots.
As i deployed my best ninja skills, one foot sloooowly in front of the other, trying to avoid crunchy twigs while not slipping around in the mud. Every now and then the bird would go silent and I was sure I'd blown it but then, wait, it was still there. As I edged my way closer and closer and I suspected directly into the bird's line of sight i was sure my stalking would soon come to an abrupt end, but no, there was the bird.
A greenfinch, a first for my local patch. I had only previously recorded greenfinches at Bavelaw (and once at the zoo!) so I was pleased as punch to be able to record it in Kirknewton. The bird kept up its loud call and at first I thought it might be a recent (early?) fledgling but this would appear to be an adult bird.
Not a new tick or me but really delighted to see it in my local area.

Seshendra Sharma is one of the most outstanding minds of modern Asia. He is the foremost of the Telugu poets today who has turned poetry to the gigantic strides of human history and embellished literature with the thrills and triumphs of the 20th century. A revolutionary poet who spurned the pedestrian and pedantic poetry equally, a brilliant critic and a scholar of Sanskrit, this versatile poet has breathed a new vision of modernity to his vernacular. Such minds place Telugu on the world map of intellectualism. Readers conversant with names like Paul Valery, Gauguin, and Dag Hammarskjold will have to add the name of Seshendra Sharma the writer from India to that dynasty of intellectuals.

బ్రతుకు తోటలో బంగారు పాట
కర్మశేషం ముగిసి, కర్తవ్యాలు నెరవేరి, జీవాత్మ పరమాత్మను చేరుకొన్న రోజున గాజుపేటికలో శాశ్వతనిద్రలో ఉన్నప్పుడు అంజలి ఘటించడానికి వెళ్ళి ఆయనను చివరిసారిగా చూసిన దృశ్యం నాకిప్పటికీ కన్నులలో మెదులుతున్నది. మంగళస్నానం చేసి, పసిమి పట్టువస్త్రాలు ధరించి, పుష్పమాలాలంకృతుడైన కొత్త పెళ్ళికొడుకు ఉత్సవసంరంభానికి సొమ్మసిల్లి విరిపాన్పుమీద మేను అరవాల్చినట్లుగా అనిపించింది. శతాబ్దాల లోతులను తరచి చూసిన ఆ విశాలనేత్రాలు వెలుగులీనుతున్నట్లే అగుపించాయి. ముఖంలో ఏదో జన్మాంతరసమీక్షారేఖ తళతళలాడుతున్నది. పెదవులపై చిరునవ్వు చెక్కుచెదరలేదు. వయోభారం వల్ల శరీరం ఒక్కింత నలుపుతేరింది. ఆవేశం కమ్మినపుడు ఆ సమున్నతనాసావంశం ఎలా నెత్తురులు చిమ్మేదో జ్ఞాపకానికి వచ్చింది. తెల్లని చేమంతి పువ్వురేకలు దిక్కుల నుంచి చుక్కలు నేలపైకి రాలినట్లు చుట్టూ చెల్లాచెదరుగా పడివున్నాయి. ద్రోణపర్వంలో తిక్కనగారు "ఆ కుమారోత్తముఁ డందు చంద్రు క్రియ నొప్పె; సితాయుధఖండభూషణో, దాత్తమణిప్రతానములు తారల చందము నొంది యందమై, యత్తఱి నుల్లసిల్లె వసుధాధిప! చూపఱపిండు చూడ్కికిన్" అని వర్ణించినట్లే ఉన్నదా పార్థివదేహం.
మృత్యువులోనూ ఎంత అందం! చేతులు జోడించి నమస్కరించాను.
అందం నిండిన చందం
జీవితాన్ని సౌందర్యకలశరత్నాకరపు సారనవనీతంగా పూర్ణాస్వాదించిన గుంటూరు శేషేంద్రశర్మ గారు నిజంగా సాహిత్యవిద్యాధరులు. తండ్రిగారి సన్నిధిలో నేర్చి ఉపనిషత్తులను, వాల్మీకి రామాయణాన్ని, కాళిదాసు కృతులలోని అందాలను గుండెలలో నింపుకొన్నారు. నైషధీయ సౌందర్యరహస్యాలను హృదయోల్లాసంగా మథించిన మేధావి. ఆనందవర్ధనుని నుంచి ఆర్చిబాల్డ్ మెక్లీష్ దాకా ఆలంకారికులందరూ ప్రాణస్నేహితులే మరి. ఆంధ్రకవితావ్యాహారం ఆయన గళసీమలో సువర్ణమణిహారమై ప్రకాశించింది. పాశ్చాత్యసాహిత్యికులందరినీ ఆత్మీయం చేసుకొన్నారు. సంస్కృతాంగ్లాలలో పారంగతులు. ఆధ్యాత్మిక కవిత్వాభిమానం వల్ల పారశీక భాషాకుటుంబంతో చుట్టరికం తప్పలేదు. ఇన్ని సంస్కారాలను ప్రోదిచేసుకొని రచనావ్యాసంగానికి ఉపక్రమించారు. ఆ అందచందాలు అందరికీ అందవు.
అందమే అలంకారమని నమ్మిన వామన మతానుయాయులలో త్రివిక్రము డాయన. ఆ సౌందర్యాన్వేషణమే జీవితంలోనూ కవిత్వంలోనూ ఆయనకు సరికొత్త లోకాలను పరిచయం చేసింది. ఆ సౌందర్యబంధం వల్లనే కావ్యజీవితం రసాత్మకం కాగలిగింది. ఆయన కవితాదర్శం సమస్యల మంచుపొరలను తొలగించి విశ్వమానవునికోసం వెలుగులు నింపిన మండే సూర్యుడా? జీవితంకంటె విలువైన జీవితసందేశాన్నిచ్చిన అఖండ కాలాతీతపురుషుడా? భామహుడా? ఆయన భావవిప్లవభాషావిధాతా? సోషలిస్టా? సోక్రటీసా? అనిపిస్తుంది.
సౌందర్యమే ఆయనకు అలంకారం, సౌందర్యమే ఆయనకు జీవితం.
విమర్శకుడు : కవి
శేషేంద్ర నాకెప్పుడూ ఒక ప్రాచ్య మహావిమర్శకునిగా, ఆ తర్వాత అంతటి అభిరూపుడైన గొప్ప కవిగా భాసిస్తారు. విమర్శవ్యాసం అనేసరికి ఆయన వ్యాఖ్యాతృశిరోమణి జయరథునిలా అనిపిస్తారు నాకు. ఆ రచనలో ఎన్ని విన్యాసాలని!
సృజనాత్మకవిమర్శలో అందాలు
"సాహిత్యకౌముది" శర్మగారి విమర్శసరళికి ఆద్యప్రకృతి. కవిత్వంలోని అందాలను
ఆ కళ్ళతోనే చూడాలి. అందులో శ్రీనాథుని కవితాజగన్మోహనరీతిని నిరూపించిన తీరు, శ్రీనాథ పినవీరన జక్కనలు రెండవ కవిత్రయమన్న కొత్త ఊహ, కళా-విజ్ఞానశాస్త్రాల లక్ష్యలక్షణాలను సమన్వయించటం - ఎప్పటికీ నిలిచే వ్యాసాలవి. "స్వర్ణ హంస " నైషధీయచరితంలోని మంత్రశాస్త్రవిశేషాలను వెలికితీసిన మరో సంజీవని. మల్లినాథుణ్ణి చదువుకోలేదని శ్రీనాథుణ్ణి గౌణీకరించారని కొందరికి కోపం వచ్చి కరపత్రాలు అచ్చువేశారు ఆ రోజుల్లో. నిజం నిష్ఠూరంగా ఉండకుంటుందా?
రామాయణ రహస్యాలను వివరించే "షోడశి" నిజంగా ఆయన జన్మాంతర సంస్కారసారమే. వాల్మీకీయ హనుమత్సందేశం కాళిదాసు మేఘదూతానికి ఎంత అందంగా నిరూపించారని! త్రిజటాస్వప్నం మాటేమిటి?
విమర్శ శబ్దశాసనం
కావ్యవిమర్శలో శేషేంద్రశర్మగారు సౌందర్యశిల్పశాస్త్రానికి శబ్దశాసనం చెయ్యాలని ఉద్యమించారు. కుంతకుని వక్రోక్తినీ, మయకోవ్స్కీ ఆలంకారికతను, మెఝెలైతిస్ సంప్రదాయనిష్ఠను, కాళిదాస వాల్మీకుల రూపణకౌశలాన్ని ఆధునికపరిభాషలోకి అనువదించే ప్రయత్నం చేశారు.
హైదరాబాదుకు వచ్చిన తర్వాత అక్కడి విరుద్ధశక్తుల త్రివేణీసంగమంగా ఆయన వైమర్శికప్రయోగం "కవిసేన మేనిఫెస్టో" అవతరించింది. దాని హృదయం మంచిది. ఆ తర్వాత జరిగిన అనుయాయుల ఆర్భాటం వల్ల అనుకూల ప్రతికూల విమర్శలు చాలానే వెలువడ్డాయి. దాని ప్రతిపాదనలోని కొత్తదనాన్ని అధ్యయన చేయవలసిన ఆవశ్యకత
ఇంకా మిగిలే ఉన్నది. దానికి కాలదోషమంటూ ఉండదు.
"రక్తరేఖ"లో అడిగే ప్రశ్నలన్నీ విద్యార్థులు మననం చేయదగినంత మౌలికమైనవి. అందుకు అలంకారప్రస్థానాన్ని పునరుజ్జీవింపజేసే ఆయన సమాధానాలన్నీ మౌలికమైనవే.

తొలిరోజులలో మిత్రులతో ఆశుకవిత్వాభ్యాసం ఉండేది. అవధానాల స్వర్ణయుగం ప్రభావం తప్పుతుందా? "ఏమయ్యా! పదియైన, దింక పడుకో!" అంటే, "ఏడ్చావులే ఊరుకో!" అనటం; శార్దూలాన్ని ముందుకు దూకించటం.
ఆ ఆశుధారాప్రణయనం ఆయన పద్యశిల్పంలో సమాధిగుణానికి భంగకరం కాలేదు. యౌవనంలో ఉన్నప్పుడు మేథ్యూ ఆర్నాల్డ్ రచన ఆలంబనగా 'సొరాబు' కావ్యం చెప్పారు. అది పఠితలను ఆవేశోద్వేగాలలో ముంచెత్తివేసే ధీరోదాత్తసన్నివేశకల్పనలతో వీరరసోల్బణంగా దువ్వూరి రామిరెడ్డి, ఉమ్రాలీషా కవుల సమ్మోహకమైన శైలిలో పారశీక రూపకోత్ప్రేక్షలతో రమణీయంగా సాగింది. ఇప్పటికీ ఆయన రచనలలో నాకిష్టమైన కావ్యం అది. మధురిమకు మారుపేరు.
ఆ తర్వాత వెలసిన "పక్షులు", "మండే సూర్యుడు" అభ్యుదయభావనలో వ్యక్తీకరించిన చిరంజీవికావ్యాలు. "జనవంశం"లో శేషేంద్ర అంతరంగవేదన ధ్వనిస్తుంది. మళ్ళీ మళ్ళీ చదువుతుంటాను - నా గుండె చప్పుళ్ళ కోసం.

అర్ధశతాబ్ది శేషేంద్ర కవితల మైమరపించే ద్రాక్షతోటలో నిలిచి, ఏవేవో తీయని పలుకులలో పరిమళించే జ్ఞాపకాల బరువుతో కన్నులు మూసుకొన్నప్పుడు నా స్మృతిపథంలో రెండే – ‘ముత్యాలముగ్గు’లో "నిదురించే తోటలోకి పాట ఒకటి వచ్చింది, కన్నుల్లో నీరు తుడిచి కమ్మటి కల ఇచ్చింది, కొమ్మల్లో పక్షుల్లారా! గగనంలో మబ్బుల్లారా!, నది దోచుకుపోతున్న నావను ఆపండి, రేవు బావురుమంటోందని నావకు చెప్పండి" అన్న గీతికామధుకోశం ఒకటీ, అంతకు ముందు "చెట్టునై పుట్టివుంటే ఏడాదికొక వసంతమన్నా దక్కేది, మనిషినై పుట్టి అదీ కోల్పోయాను" అన్న ముక్తక ముక్తాఫలం ఒకటీ గుప్పున గుబాళించి, విరికన్నెల చిరునవ్వుల వెన్నెల వెలుగులను వెలార్చే ఆ వినిర్మలత్వం నిండునూరేండ్లు చల్లగా వర్ధిల్లాలని మనస్సులోనే ముడుపులు కడతాను.

Historia
Se cree que su fundación data del siglo VII, y es atribuida a San Fructuoso, aunque hay quien considera que en realidad fue establecido por uno de sus discípulos, llamado Teodosio. En cualquier caso, sabemos que la orden benedictina se instaló allí hasta la invasión musulmana, y que en el siglo X volvieron a asentarse en el valle de Poio. De hecho, el primer documento histórico que se conserva donde se menciona este monasterio es del año 942.
Será a partir de este siglo cuando el cenobio comience a ganar en poder y riqueza, gracias en gran medida a la protección y devoción de los monarcas de los siglos XII y XIII. No podemos olvidar, por ejemplo, que la misma Doña Urraca se encargó, en el siglo XII, de donar al monasterio el coto de Poio y puerto de Combarro, entre muchas otras villas de los alrededores. Se puede decir que este enclave se erigió en centro económico y cultural de toda la región. También el emperador Carlos V se acordaría de esta congregación, otorgándoles en 1548 un privilegio que les autorizaba a inaugurar un Colegio Mayor de Teología, que llegaría a contar con maestros tan ilustres como el Padre Feijoo.

It was completed in 1905 after 54 years of construction. Much of this delay can be attributed to the collapse of the dome in 1868 which required complete demolition of the completed works and rebuilding from the ground up.
The architectural style is Neo-Rennaissance; it has a Greek cross groundplan. The façade is anchored by two large bell towers. In the southern tower is Hungary's biggest bell, weighing over 9 tonnes (8.9 LT; 9.9 ST) . Its predecessor had a weight of almost 8 tonnes (7.9 LT; 8.8 ST), but it was used for military purposes during World War II. Visitors may access the dome by elevators or by climbing 364 stairs for a 360° view overlooking Budapest.

I had just gotten out of the shower..began wiping away the accumulated steam from the mirror...and I noticed a certain something about myself..almost as if I didn't recognize myself for a minute. Have you ever looked in the mirror at yourself...I mean really looked...and couldn't help but feel like you were looking at a stranger?
So that got me thinking..about me and how I think I am perceived to other people..There are many 'qualities' I possess that anyone who really knows me will certainly attest to...and it is obvious to all that know of me that I am a few things..I hold a few titles I guess you could say..I'm a mother (first, always!), I am a soon to be ex wife (woo-hoo!), a crafter of many things, I adore photography, I am a huge dog lover...etc etc...But those things about me are merely branches on my tree..They don't say who I really am..although I am not sure what else really does some times..and I find myself wondering if I even like to be in specific categories...definitely not the wife one...If I have realized that after many years of wedded bliss (hell)..that I am not cut out to be a wife..when my kids move out on their own, I will not have the daily parenting responsibilities I have now...I enjoy all types of animals and not just of the canine persuasion....so in return then do all of these things now take away from who I am? Of course not..so those things about me, those 'titles' do not define me...just small bits of my life and how I have lived it...I guess I can only hope to begin to realize more about me as a whole and not just think that I am the subcategories....and once again take a look at myself in the mirror and realize that I am in fact not such a mystery anymore....

Tue 24/3/09: So we got up at 6am to fly to Denver today, Brrrrrr! Picked up our hire car and drove into the mountains. We we kind of winging it, found a place to say that had a fake fireplace and an outside hot tub. I couldn't believe how hot I actually got in there, also I think some locals may have gotten a look at 'the girls' when they stopped next door to get fuel!
Matanzas (description in a moment)...The most common dish, served daily is rice with dark beans served with a brownish sauce ; I liked it a lot but after some weeks of that diet, back in Brussels, I'm happy of eating something else...

(Part of the Matanzas set = my first day in Cuba = having landed in Varadero, I avoided the nearby holiday resort and instead, arrived without reservations in the little city of Matanzas on the way to Havana as I was very curious to discover what a normal Cuban town looked like.
I was lucky enough to meet in one of the "casas particulares" (the alternative to the state owned hotels : renting a room in a house or an appartment where a family is living - number of rented rooms now limited to 2) a woman who spoke fluent French as she is living in France :
... It was the end of her holidays : Rebecca was leaving the next day and had decided to tour her various friends in town. She invited me to join her, despite the fact that the room available at her mother's place (2nd photo) was taken by someone else.
For me, it was a unique occasion to see her native city from the inside and to penetrate into offices and assist at some reunions and exchanges of old souvenirs that sometimes moved her to tears... My first day in Cuba was indeed one of the best ones !)
