Hello my flickr friends. Sorry for missing your streams lately. 'been out for couple of days. I'm trying to catch up again.

Playing with filters in PS. This sunset shot was taken this afternoon when we went out to pick up some seashells from the shore. I did not expect to see the sun setting from this beach. Luckily, I had my camera with me but not my tripod =(. I had to handheld / used my camera bag on some long exposure shots I took of the waves. I will post some next time.

Have a wonderful day everyone. Thank you for visiting.

Quante gocce di rugiada intorno a me,

cerco il sole ma non c'è…

Dorme ancora la campagna, forse no,

è sveglia, mi guarda, non so.

sale adagio verso me.

Quanto verde tutto intorno a ancor piú in là,

fuggito…

intorno irrepetibili colori e silenzi

e foglie cadute e cadute

e nubi bige a rimpiettino

e il mio rabbrividire...

ia giacca stretta al petto...

un sapore di uva...

e dita attaccatticca...

e il giorno

come vai bello

come sempre possente:

Come sempre....

The nebula Messier 78 is a reflection nebula in the constellation Orion. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1780 and included by Charles Messier in his catalog of comet-like objects that same year.

M78 is the brightest diffuse reflection nebula of a group of nebulae that include NGC 2064, NGC 2067 and NGC 2071. This group belongs to the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex and is about 1,600 light years distant from Earth. M78 is easily found in small telescopes as a hazy patch and involves two stars of 10th magnitude. These two stars, HD 38563A and HD 38563B, are responsible for making the cloud of dust in M78 visible by reflecting their light.

This is a strange sunset phenomena I see once in awhile. The rays such as these here are actually not in the west but are in the east as the sun goes down. They appear to be related to shadows cast by clouds based on this image, but if anyone knows what this effect is called or can explain why it does this-- please do. Edit: and flickr comes through, I knew I could count on the hive mind to find the term! Thanks goes to algo, larigan, and ER Post for finding these are anti-crepuscular rays, fascinating!

Note:the rays were not added in photoshop, I emphasized them here with a blend of hdr and non-hdr layers to create the final result. A total of two hdr images composed from 8 exposures 1 ev apart and two original frames were used to create the final result that best shows off the rays in the east to my tastes.

This image is from the archives and when Ann and I were there it was early only 0830 and this guy was totally fascinated with Ann's Hat and the the fact that she had an orange she was eating. I thought it was true love hehe !

CAT:

The Ulun Danu Temple complex is located on the shores of Lake Beratan in the mountains near Bedugul. Water temples serve the entire region in the outflow area; downstream there are many smaller water temples that are specific to each irrigation association.

Built in 1663, this temple is used for offerings ceremony to the Balinese water, lake and river goddess Dewi Danu, due to the importance of Lake Beratan as a main source of irrigation in central Bali.

Lake Beratan is known as the Lake of Holy Mountain due to the fertility of this area.

-----------Jumping Child----------

Day time trek to Ogmore with Molly rain / cloud was weathermans story i got lucky , will return here when the tide is right and will either be a sunrise or sunset .

This was'nt the beach i was planning the tide had not dropped enough and there was a group of approx 12 people waiting to climb down into the small gorge with their teacher so i chose another part of this addictive coastline

So the light was very overcast - no vivid colours today .

If anyone could tell me what the heck is this thing, I would really appreciate it, lol. It's very small and very fragile unlike its thorny look

A strobist attempt to outdoor macro shot. Sunlight from the right and SB25 set up at 1/64 from the left.

Excerpt from www.thetreemuseum.ca/pages/history.php:

The Tree Museum was established in 1997 and is a site set on the pre Cambrian shield amidst the cottage county-side of Muskoka. It is located on Ryde Lake near the town of Gravenhurst, Ontario. The site is undeveloped and includes both waterfront and forest. For the participating artists, this opportunity represents a rare occasion to realize major outdoor artworks in an uncultivated environment.

1998-2019, artists, both National and International, have created unique projects relating to the site of the Tree Museum. These works engage the complex reality of the relationship between man and nature; adoration, reliance, and exploitation. Collectively, the projects explore concepts of identity, memory and territory in respect to nature and natural processes, while underscoring the imbalance that characterizes our current relationship to the environment.

We are also cognisant of our responsibility as conservators of the land where the work is created. Eighty percent of the pathways are temporary and as the work disappears, or is removed, so too is all evidence of its presence. Some of the works are permanent and others are of a transitory nature, with the elements and nature determining their life span. We tread very lightly on the land.

It is named after Cepheus, King of Aethiopia in Greek mythology. It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy, and remains one of the 88 modern constellations. Its brightest star is Alpha Cephei with an apparent magnitude of 3.5. Delta Cephei is the prototype of an important class of star known as a Cepheid variable. RW Cephei, an orange hypergiant, together with the red supergiants Mu Cephei, VV Cephei and V354 Cephei are among the largest stars known. In addition, Cepheus also has the hyperluminous quasar S5 0014+81, hosting an ultramassive black hole in its core at 40 billion solar masses, about 10,000 times more massive than the central black hole of the Milky Way, making it the most massive black hole known in the universe.

Caught this awesome lightning bolt while I was chasing thunderstorms with my girlfriend.

So I finally have my lightning shot, I always wanted to capture one. I tried various methods, from long exposure (example 30 seconds) to shorter (2.5 seconds) consecutive shots. This one came out really well on 2.5 seconds exposure. I set the ISO at 400, although I've seen many photographers shoot them at 200, my shots looked greater at 400.

This was shot behind the Sanctuaire du Cap facing the Fleuve St-Laurent, Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada.

You’ve got the cool water

When the fever runs high

You’ve got the look of love light in your eyes

And I was in crazy motion

till you calmed me down

It took a little time

But you calmed me down

When something goes wrong

I’m the first to admit it

I’m the first to admit it

And the last one to know

When something goes right

Well its likely to lose me, mm

Its apt to confuse me

Its such an unusual sight

Oh, I cant, I cant get used to something so right

Something so right

They’ve got a wall in china

Its a thousand miles long

To keep out the foreigners they made it strong

And I’ve got a wall around me

That you cant even see

It took a little time

To get next to me

When something goes wrong

I’m the first to admit it

I’m the first to admit it

And the last one to know

When something goes right

Well its likely to lose me, mm

Its apt to confuse me

Because its such an unusual sight

Oh, I cant, I cant get used to something so right

Something so right

Some people never say the words I love you

Its not their style

To be so bold

Some people never say the words I love you

But like a child they’re longing to be told, mm

When something goes wrong

I’m the first to admit it

I’m the first to admit it

And the last one to know

When something goes right

Well its likely to lose me, mm

Its apt to confuse me

Because its such an unusual sight

I swear, I cant, I cant get used to something so right

Something so right

Thank your very much for your beautiful note. It is so refreshing to read that there are some good people interested in me as a person. You cannot believe the notes I receive and their contents make me sick. I am not sorry for the bluntness of my words, that's who I am. I speak my mind, this is how my dad raised me and I don't see why people can't understand. They can play their game and weave their web, I cannot be fooled.

I only answer few of the mail I receive. Petty minds I don't tolerate and I say it like it is!!! So, my dear, I don't want to bore you how much others discuss me, I asked my good assistant to take her darn camera, as if she needed my asking and that's another story, to go outside and get some good shots of the house. You'll hear from her, that I am sure of.

Hope you'll be pleased with what you receive, from what I hear she is pretty good. If you ask me, golf is the sport (even the young Tiger is getting good at it). Yes I don't deny, cameras and my outspokenness are what made me.

Sincerely,
