Our favourite pharmacy on Victoria street. The hear of the Village is on the left.
I took the pictures of Victoria street in both directions while standing in the middle of the street, more or less a few feet in front of these ladies. My mother's car is the small gold one going in to he parking lot.

Gloucester Pharmacy (5,600 square feet)
7453 Hargett Boulevard, Walter Reed Plaza, Gloucester, VA
This pharmacy opened on September 1st, 1998 and closed on April 19th, 2021. The portion it occupies on the end was originally the No. 1 Chinese restaurant, which opened in January 1998 and relocated here on October 30th, 2008.
Seemingly, this is about the best picture of the pharmacy that I got. Its sign matches that of the Seafood department (meaning that, thankfully, this is one department without anthropomorphic figures). It's in a somewhat odd location in the center of the front end (where I would expect the customer service department to be), which seems like it would be perfect for an outside pharmacy walk-up window like many Fred Meyers (and some QFCs) have -- except this store doesn't have one! Even more strangely, the entire department is glass block on the exterior walls. I do have to wonder if this might have been customer service (or something else) during the Stock Market Foods era, since I doubt there would have been pharmacies in such a small, local chain, but you never know...
“We never closed”. The pharmacy that resides behind these walls has been there a few hundred years. It boasts the bowl of Hygieia, who Wikipedia tells us was the Greek goddess of Health (who brought us hygiene), and the associate, wife, or daughter of Asclepius. Asclepius' symbol is his rod, with a snake twined around it. That’s a wholesome story that the original builders of this fine establishment (in the old town of Korčula, in Croatia) erected to draw attention to the service within. I’m glad it’s still there. But I have to admit that its garish, plastic and steel green substitute placed alongside is a darn site easier to spot when you’ve run out of paracetamol.

This stock photo image is of multiple single use plastic straws, that are being banned as of 2020 by the UK in light of the detrimental effects they are having on our oceans.
Chemist 4 U are very conscious of the rising plastic issue and the concern around single use plastics polluting the oceans. As such, not only have they drastically changed the way in which they use plastic in their organisation, but they are also aiming to raise awareness of plastic in the healthcare industry and tackle it head on.
