The old pharmacy is a medieval stone house inside the city wall of Visby, Gotland, Sweden. The house is built in the 1200’s and is known as the oldest apartment house in Sweden and for its original stepped gable. It was built to serve as a packhouse and as residence. In the 1800’s a pharmacy occupied the house. After the pharmacy moved to a newer building in 1897 this house got its nickname the old pharmacy.

To get here, you need to kayak or have a boat. We camped for two nights on the island, had watermelon and Barbecue, that was a whole lot of fun

Sweny’s Pharmacy is featured in James Joyce’s Ulysses, and is described in sumptuous detail within the novel, a description which stands to this day. Today, Sweny’s is maintained by volunteers, dedicated to preserving the shop as it was in Joyce’s time. Here you will find a selection of second-hand books and the perfect location for daily readings of Joyce’s works. Not forgetting, of course, the lemon-scented soap that made the shop famous!

(Norwegian: Apotekergården) Røros Mining Town is linked to the copper mines, established in the 17th century and exploited for 333 years until 1977. Røros contains about 2000 wooden one- and two-storey houses and a smelting house. The town was completely rebuilt after its destruction by Swedish troops in 1679.

As stated before, I do the like the white walls on either side of the pharmacy. I haven't been back since the remix remodel was completed however, and therefore uncertain of the final result. Other than those white walls, and the (almost!) on center new pharmacy lettering, not much has changed in this view as a result of the latest remodel.

Looks like there was once a door or window in the side of the pharmacy box. In this store, the pharmacy is situated in the corner over by seasonal and the garden shop entrance. The pharmacy is also one of the very few areas of the store that has the newer, red style signage.

As I've said numerous times (mainly due to the fact that I sometimes can't think of much else to say :P), Fred's was quite good at packing a lot of selection and variety into a small space. These two aisles of home goods are yet another example of what I've been talking about.
