Looking more like a badly proportioned model than a true breathing decker. This PD2 was rebodies in 1970 using a Roe Trolleybus body. The thick pillar behind the first window upstairs being to accomodate trolleybus wiring, and a disproportionatre height more common on trolley buses.
70 was Lytham's last PD2 bought in 1964 with two others. Withdrawn in 1981, preserved intially privately and then at the North West Museum of Transport at Burtonwood and St Helens, LTT restored it under an adoption deal in 2000 and later bought it out right.
EFE Leyland PD2/3 from a set of two buses no. 99923. Reg. no. NKT 914, fleet no. DH418, on route 139 to Maidstone.
I took this at Alwalton, Huntingdonshire in August 1978, but cannot remember doing so, and I'd be grateful for any further info.
One of a very small number of RTWs in preservation at the time, this was the best of the bunch and won many awards.

Leyland PD2/40 new in May 1958, OCO502 was purchased by the Plymouth City Transport Preservation Group at Auction in Sept 2012. Seen at David Clarke Commercial repairs at Buckfastleigh. The underside and brakes have been repaired, and she drives. To be used as a before restoration exhibit later this year. 11th July 2013
I went to pick the kids up from school this afternoon, and as i approached the bus station I saw a red roof sticking up above the market hall, this is what was on the other side. So there I was no camera 2 kids and a PD2, thankfully, fellow flickrite sum micron was on hand to lend me his camera allowing me to get a couple of record shots.
JTF 217F is a 1968 Leyland titan PD2A/47 new to Darwen Corporation in 1968, and fitted from new for one man operation. In April 1974 the bus passed to the newly formed Blackburn Borough transport, being renumbered to 139 to avoid a clash with former Blackburn PD2 ABV 39B. the bus was retained by th Transport department as a special events vehicle until the mid eighties, when it entered full preservation.
LRV992 Leyland PD2/12 with Metro-Cammell H30/26R body new in April 1956 as Portsmouth Corporation No 100, converted to open top and renumbered No 2.

At the risk of duplicating a view posted by fellow flickrites, here is St Helens 54 whilst out on the first of two trips, courtesy of the North West Museum of Transport, during our recent visit. The nicely preserved PD2/East Lancs (HDJ554E) was new in 1967.
Bolton Corporation 1949-vintage Leyland Titan 408 (DBN311) was of the rare air-braked PD2/4 variety, supplied only to Bolton and CIE for tramway replacement in Dublin.. After withdrawal in the mid-1960s, it was sold to an evangelist in Ireland for use as a mobile church. It is now on display at the Bury Transport Museum.

I gave her a very quick makeover... was not sure if I saw the color scheme on another ebony else where, but this was the midnight theme was what came first into my mind.
LRV 996, a Portsmouth Corporation 1956 Leyland PD2, East Grinstead, 27 September 1987. A special weekend to celebrate the electrification from Croydon to East Grinstead was taking place.

RUF186. Former Southdown fleet number 786 this is a Leyland PD2 with Beadle H59RD bodywork.
One of a batch of 12 similar vehicles delivered new in 1956.
