We were a little disappointed in Taormina by the overflow of tourists (in September and although this photo does not reflect this remark) and the number of tourist shops.

Unfortunately we were not at the Greek theater because it was a massacre and Etna was in a strong haze of heat!

My heart to yours for eternity my sweet one

I love and adore you more than anything

and there I strive to always make you proud and happy.

My heart to yours for eternity

because my heart, my essence and very soul are all yours.

I love you my darling and with true love for you

my heart overflows pure rivers of gold.

You are the most precious thing in this world,

you are it's beauty and in joy that makes me cry.

My heart to yours for eternity because of

the most special and sacred bond that we so deeply share.

Could you feel its power to when we first met?

I think you could but must ask,

I think you did because we are both so very shy

and in so many ways opened up to each other

that with others we could not or would dare not,

all that kept us back was that last bit of shyness

which kept us from saying our love directly,

when we looked at each other though everyone could see it.

It was mentioned to me so very often

and I've always known you are who I cherished and wanted.

My heart to yours for eternity because you

are my Queen and sweet Angel.

You are so darling and my heart melts and sing for thee.

My heart to yours for all eternity because it aches

so very much when you aren't near to me

and when we are not talking.

Even now when I'm smiling I ache and yearn

for the beautiful woman I adore and love,

I pray you are not angry even though I don't feel that you are,

my heart longs to give you sweet kisses

and hold you so close sharing sweet warmth.

My heart to yours for eternity because

you are my dream and only true love,

I want to marry you and be with you for all time.

My heart to yours for eternity because you are my light,

you are my hope, you are my northern star and a diamond in the rough.

My heart is yours and forever it shall be to no end,

My heart to yours singing my favorite songs of love

and writing poetry just for you through eternity my dear.

From the archives April 2017 along the Grand River at the Grand Ravines North Park. Almost every year in the spring time the Grand River overflows and makes life difficult navigate through the park. The extra water can also create new photo opportunities.

Pen y Garreg Dam was completed in 1904. it retains water in the Pen y Garreg Reservoir which has a capacity of 6,055 megalitres. The dam is 37m high and 131m in length.

……One of the first photo’s I took last October as we arrived in the Lake District, Derwent water was definitely a bit more than full as we’ve seen many times before! Alan:-)

It stopped raining (at last) after lunch, allowing us a walk round two of the Longdendale Reservoirs. After all the recent rain, Torside is finally full to overflowing. Torside is the largest of the five reservoirs in the Longdendale chain and the last to completely fill. I don't think I've ever seen it full to overflowing before, it's often rather low. I believe it has, at times, been purposely kept that way while investigation work was being done to it's dam, which appears to have been fitted with lots of sensors.

The shots below show the overflow back in August (first shot) and October. It's interesting to see the same scene throughout the seasons.

Looking Close... on Friday: Sprinkles

Intense downpours the previous afternoon have raised the water levels in the creek. The falls are going off!

I was playing around with different lighting setups and came up with this.

NIJMEGEN / LENT - the threshold construction is a dam in the East side of the secondary channel with a number of openings (divers) that always fed by running water from the river Waal. At high tide the water will flow from the Waal over the threshold, whereby the entire capacity of the secondary channel is used.

This is the outfall from Dovestones Reservoir, Chew Valley, Greenfield. The reservoir is also home to the local sailing club hence the safety fence to stop the sailors disappearing down the plug hole.

This was the first time I've seen a dam overflowing. It's a very impressive sight - like a huge manmade waterfall. I once lived for a year under a dam in Japan but never saw it overflowing like this.
