The world is making huge strides in overcoming global poverty. Since 1990, a quarter of the world has risen out of extreme poverty.
Now, less than 10% of the world lives in extreme poverty, surviving on $1.90 a day or less.
When families move out of poverty, children’s health and well-being improve. Since 1990, the number of children dying - mostly from preventable causes such as poverty, hunger, and disease - is less than half of what it was, dropping from more than 35,000 a day to under 15,000.

For the last 6 months, this World Vision supported centre for children who were sexually abused provides high-quality, medium to long-term care, for 114 girls aged 4 to 14. Caring for girls included safe accommodation, nutritious foods, medical and health assistance, legal support, equal opportunity education (formal and non-formal), psycho-social support, and frequent opportunity for playing.

I watched the trailer of this documentary and I was in tears. Luckily, I have a father that I know loves me though he wasn't around much while I was growing up. He worked. He had to provide for his family. Then, I didn't get it. Now, I do and I can respect what he sacrificed for us.
