"There is no darkness so dense, so menacing, or so difficult that it cannot be overcome by light". Vern P. Stanfill. (Sunset after a storm at Rhossili, South Wales.)

If classical antiquity had overcome slavery; if curiosity had not been fused with conquest and colonisation; if the Declaration of Human Rights of 1789 had contained a paragraph on the abolition of the slave trade; if the Enlightenment and its successor civilisations had kept wisdom; if barbarism had not been the hallmark of the 20th century; if superstition had not returned via the social media; if we all had let go our crazy search for certainty. If.

Ever since i was a little kid

I have always thought

I could run faster than the wind

Stare up to the sky with open spaces

I could live and die

Man you can't find that in no book

Never find that in no book

Someone will drag you down

And try to knock you under

Hey mama said with her words of wonder

Don't matter cause

Cause it's in your soul

I have always felt

That i had to prove it to myself

No salvation from the firin' line

A million dreams won't set you free

God i know there's something trapped in me

There's no refuge from the ride

No shelter ever saved a man his pride

Give you pain and never feed your hunger

I won't close my eyes

When it rains and thunders

Don't matter cause

Cause it's in your soul

And when the night is overcome

And i've been racin' down a road

That's got no trace, no face

If i could live by the words i've sung

And carry all the choices i've made

I swear, i swear i'll be there

Hey mister don't shadow box with me

Cause i don't wanna someday be

An old man cursin' what i might have been

Now i realize what i see

That the wind was never chasin' me

And i don't feel so alone

I can close my eyes i'm goin' home

Behind the clouds the sun is shinin'

Some rain will fall no use cryin'

O no, o no not me

Got a picture in my head

That won't let go of

Young man running in search of

Count your blessings

Cause it's in your soul

O it's in your soul

In your soul, o no

Ever since i was a little kid

I have always thought

Young man running...

The history of human progression through ages has taught me one simple thing..."if your will is honest and effort is conscientious, then life will teach you to journey through all hurdles and highs"

Here is a couple mountain bikers expressing the same simple message while cycling through the Baralach Pass (4,890 mts, 16,000 ft) on Manali-Leh Highway, Lahaul valley, Himachal Pradesh, India

I was so excited when I saw the way the sun was shining through these stain glass windows at St. Vitus' Cathedral, Prague.....the reflections and colours were just gorgeous.....I tried my best to capture this extraordinary scene...hope you enjoy.......

Overcome with the feeling that in this small corner of the atmosphere reigns complete and utter silence; that here, in the darkness, immutable tranquility holds sway.

And again my imagination was stimulated. My mind made me see a being who gathers the courage to go up the stairs.

Isaiah 24:20 “The earth will be moving uncertainly, like a man overcome by drink; it will be shaking like a tent; and the weight of its sin will be on it, crushing it down so that it will not get up again.”

Watching a storm take over the mountains over a lake is such an incredible moment in time. It is an overcoming feeling to stand before the mountains with a storm swamping them. There is so much power being displayed in this one moment. The mountains already remind us of how small we are and then when a storm has the power to overcome them it shows us truly how small and powerless we are. The Creator always has more power than the created. Let a moment like this send a holy chill down your spine that reminds you that you are not in control and that there is One who rules the entire universe! There is one who has both the power and authority to not just kill the body, but also the body and soul both for all of eternity. This same One can also give life to those who are dead. His name is JESUS!

“Although the world is full of suffering,

it is also full of the overcoming of it.”

We OVERCOME through our Faith in God in this Pandemic

As long as we're together, we can face all the struggles this world give us.

~ I want to thank all my sponsors who were very supportive and who understand my situation the past few days. As you all know, Philippines was hit by a Typhoon and flood has really taken a toll in my country. With no electricity for almost 3-4 days, I had to ask for deadlines extension on my blog posts. So again, thank you!

In the morning light, so crisp and clear,

Stands an overcomer, without any fear.

With arms stretched wide to embrace the day,

A smile breaks through, like the sun's first ray.

Just a modest contribution of mine with a wish to lift the spirit of all my Flickr friends in the middle of the current pandemic. I sincerely hope for the early arrival of a new dawn to disperse the human sufferings that are currently on our news channels seven days a week. WE SHALL OVERCOME!

In comparison to my previous photo Timberline 1 which is whimsical and quite innocent this image carries with it an intentional compositional aesthetic.

I immediately recognized the potential silence and formality of the scene and knew I needed to overcome it's 'stage' appearance. There really wasn't much deciding from what angle I was going to shoot, but wanting to leave 'space' so the silence can be seen I had to consider my distance to the evergreens and their structural density and relationship between one another and the frame.

Sympathy

I know why the caged bird sings, ah me,

When his wing is bruised

and his bosom sore, _

When he beats his bars and

he would be free;

It is not a carol of joy or glee.

But a prayer that he sends

from his heart's deep core,

But a plea, that upward to

Heaven, he flings_

I know why the caged bird

sings!

Paul Laurence Dunbar
